The 4th of July

  2. Do you mean to suggest that the 4th of July isn't about the dunk tank?

    1. There are people who are fully deserving of being made fun of. And, as always, we are grateful to those who work so hard to provide us the opportunity to do so.

  6. The people are the government, even Sun Yat Sen knew this when he took Lincoln's words from the Gettisberg address: Of the People, By the People, For the People, for his Three People's Principle.

Now, now children. No fighting today. Chief Black Kettle says, "Have a safe and sane 4th." The finger you save may be your own.

    1. Thank you, Chief. As always your tom-tom beats true. Fortunately fireworks are illegal in Sierra Madre, and therefore no one living here would even think of using them.

    2. Yo "Chief"... why don't you take a long walk, on a short pier! Fight on!

  9. My favorite quote by Woodrow Wilson was right after he created the Federal Reserve...

"I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men."

    1. At least Wilson gave women the vote - albeit after Alice Gray starved herself in jail.

So today, I am grateful for the brave suffragettes who stood up and demanded that they not be taxed without representation.

    2. Woodrow Wilson was a progressive and destructive president.
I am offended by quotes by this man.

  10. I think like most quotes on the internet all or PART are not to be found in any written form from the quoted writer but are usually other people's statements or put together from a series of statements made at different times . A lot of the Jefferson quotes that I see posted on Facebook if checked are not accurate and I am sure there is a lot of discussion on this one attributed to Wilson

Unless you have read ALL the quotes on the internet, and have cross refrenced them you are just spreading more B.S. YOU have not made any specific arguement, except you see Jefferson quotes on FB that are not accurate. This tells me that your friends are just as sharp as you, and if you three ever get together on something look out!

You can tell, because it reduced 8:30 to a prissy remark that has nothing to do with the substance of the comments.

    6. Imagine. Not considering the government to be our beneficent bounty that blesses us all. I'd say this Woodrow Wilson guy should do some volunteering. It will get his attitude straight.

  11. Gosh. That Woodrow Wilson should have spoken out on Liberty. How uncivil! He needs to shut up.

    3. Why does he always show up at our parade? Most of the people attending don't even know who Antsy is.

      Delete
    4. You can't really appreciate how incompetent Antonovich really is until you attend a meeting of ACE and watch him in action (or maybe that should be inaction)

  13. Liberty is still a work in progress. Once the process stops Liberty will disappear. There are a few Native Americans and Quakers who could tell us a thing or two about Liberty. The Liberty Bell got cracked for a reason. Long live Liberty!

You Have to FIGHT for Freedom.

Only willfully ignorant, cowards kneel down and pray to their fake gods, expecting something for nothing instead of earning it.

Franklin D. Roosevelt “The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it comes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism - ownership of government by an individual, by a group,”

Thomas Jefferson “The liberty of speaking and writing guards our other liberties.”
