I Spent Some Time On the Phone Yesterday Talking to the FBI About Elizabeth Wistar

Lady Elizabeth? Will you be visiting me?
On October 12th I posted an article here called "I Have Been Contacted By the FBI." In this article I discussed an e-mail I'd received from the Feds informing me that I had been identified as a victim in an internet extortion case. One that involved some very bizarre circumstances, and even included last April's City Council election.

Here is how I described it all back then (click here):

Going into the 2012 Sierra Madre election there was a concerted, though laughably ineffective, attempt to take this blog out. It had become obvious to certain parties in town that a lot of people were starting to get their local news from the Sierra Madre Tattler. We certainly weren't reaching everyone of course, but it was being read by most of those in town who actually bother to vote. And what was being said here was certainly not helping push forward the campaigns of the candidates they were supporting last April. So they decided to go after us.

The initial vehicle was a blog called The Sierra Madre Tattler Tattler. Run by someone using the name of Lady Elizabeth Wistar, it attempted to cast this site as a hotbed of uncivil and highly politically incorrect behavior. With most of the attacks being aimed at my charming self. Unfortunately for Ms. Wistar, not many people were interested in reading a blog that did little more than run down another blog. And Ms. Wistar apparently wasn't up to the job, either. After 5 posts that dealt mostly with her burning obsession with me, she pretty much ran out of malarkey. Today the site sits somewhere out in there in the ether unread and forgotten.

However, that isn't where this story ends. Or why the FBI has come calling. If you follow this link to Elizabeth Wistar's Facebook site (click here), you will find the following message:

Rainbows and unicorns!

I heart John Buchanan, I heart Josh Moran, I heart Nancy Walsh, I heart MaryAnn MacGillivray. I heart Joe Mosca. And I REALLY heart Sierra Madre!

You can read my blog The Sierra Madre Tattler Tattler. It is a spoof of  The Sierra Madre Tattler, which is written by John Crawford.

A cyberbullying report has been filed against John Crawford and can be viewed here:

http://cyberbullyingreport.com/bully/john-crawford-sir-eric-sierra-madre-tattler-cyberbullying-296.aspx

For the record, the site that "Lady Elizabeth Wistar" is so excited about here has been pulled down by the FBI and can no longer be found on the web. Though they do have it on file.

As I described back then, the fellow who ran the "cyberbullying" site that "Lady Elizabeth Wistar" "reported" me to had some others as well, including illegalalienreport.com and stdcarriers.com. Places that unkind people like Lady Wistar would pay a fee to have persons they do not favor "reported" so that they can face public humiliation. It was a form of pay-to-play anonymous shielded slander that appeals to certain cruel and creepy individuals. Which is what the rainbow and unicorn loving "Lady Elizabeth Wistar" arranged for me. All in the name of spreading love and good cheer around Sierra Madre.

Things have now moved forward a little bit. The fellow who ran these sites has been arrested on extortion and various other charges, and is in prison in Oregon. He is being held on $1 million dollars bail. I have been identified as being both a victim and a witness in the case because this gentleman, Cyrus Andrew Sullivan (mug shot above), attempted to extort money from me in exchange for removing "Lady Wistar's" slanderous report. I didn't pay him a cent of course, but I did build up a considerable e-mail exchange with this guy, all of which I later gladly supplied to the FBI.

The sordid criminal affairs of Cyrus Andrew Sullivan, the extortionist our own "Lady Wistar" did a little dirty business with, has become a big story in Oregon. He even made some national cable news on one of Anderson Cooper's CNN news shows. Here is a report about all this on the website of KOIN-TV (click here):

The 28-year-old founder of STDCarriers.com is in Multnomah County jail, accused of a felony “computer crime,” two counts of felony coercion and identify theft. Cyrus Andrew Sullivan was booked into Multnomah County Jail Friday.

Sullivan's bail has been set at $1 million, up from $200,000 set Thursday for his arrest. He also is not being allowed to make any phone calls from jail, except to his lawyer.

Sullivan has been a focus of a segment on Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show Anderson, and has gained Internet notoriety for the website he founded in 2008 allowing users to report anyone as an STD carrier.

In an April 2011 report, that site raised concerns for at least one local attorney.

"In Oregon there's no liability for the publication of a private fact," Portland attorney Duane Bosworth told KOIN in its story about STDCarriers.com. That's even if the publication of that private fact was done to intentionally inflict emotional harm, Bosworth said.

In response to feedback such as this, Sullivan also launched a site called CyberBullyingReport.com: "Anti-Bullying and Internet Safety Services." It promoted a Portland-based website letting people "report cyber bullies online with anonymous publishing."

"CyberBullyingReport.com is ... built to empower victims of cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and online harassment to fight back against their tormentors safely and anonymously," the release reads, "while at the same time providing up to date news and resources for Internet safety."

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court, Sullivan is accused of threatening a person he believed was speaking out against him online in what Sullivan described as the "stalker site." Investigators said he threatened to post that persons "STD report" if the website was not removed.

Investigators said Sullivan went on to send an email to the victim, cc'd to a chief investigator for the Oregon Department of Justice which said, "Now I have no choice but to come to your house armed and put an end to you once and for all.  The only way you can stop this is by removing your stalker site and paying me $10,000.  You don't have a choice."

When the person did not pay investigators said he again threatened to kill that person. Portland police said the case is still under investigation and Sullivan could face additional charges.

As you can see, this Cyrus Andrew Sullivan fellow is clearly a charmer. One who makes credible death threats while also helping "Lady Elizabeth Wistar" smear her fellow Sierra Madreans.

Yesterday I requested from the FBI and the Department of Justice the identity of the person(s) who paid to place my name and picture on one of Sullivan's hate sites. Something that would for all intents and purposes remove the veil of secrecy from the bearded face of "Lady Elizabeth Wistar." They had me fill out some on-line forms and told me that this might happen, but if so it would take a little time. I, of course, can wait. I am a very patient fellow.

Once "Wistar's" identity is supplied to me by the Feds I will post it here along with some pertinent observations. I believe it would bring some closure to this affair, and therefore be the correct thing to do.

Breaking: Sandi Levin quits her City Attorney gig in Los Alamitos

I will be following up on this story later today, but at a City Council meeting in Los Alamitos last night our former City Attorney Sandi Levin, also the ruling doyenne of Colantuono and Levin, resigned her gig there. It has also been revealed to me that the newly elected City Council in Los Al is showing clear signs of dumping the entire Colantuono and Levin law firm as well.

There appears to be some kind of a trend happening.

I am expecting a report later this morning to show up on the excellent "Let's Fix Los Al" blog. As soon as it does I will update this report.

  1. It will be interesting to know just who involved John Crawford in this.
I would have to guess it will be a name we all recognize.

    2. There is a lot of people who think Joe Mosca and/or Matt Bosse were involved (writers) of that Cumquat.

There is a reason these guys left town/left the country in a "cloud".

  3. I wonder if the same person/s who paid this guy are the same people who had John Crawford's home and MaryAnn MacGillivray's home burglarized?
Most people in Sierra Madre are law abiding decent people, but obviously there is a group who is anything but. These are the people who ruin Sierra Madre.

  4. I'll bet the dweebs who "reported" John Crawford are shivering in their glittery boots this morning after reading the Tattler. I for one can hardly wait to see their names in headlines and I'll even go so far as to say we'll be able to connect the dots with every major political campaign, development attempt, and yes, City Council election for the last 10 years. Oh! This is so sweet!

  6. This will really show us Sierra Madre's dirty little cadre of good old boys and girls who are today's self-proclaimed "leaders" in town.

Catching this on-line corruption is hopefully going to put a stop to this kind of rubbish in Sierra Madre.

The bullying I experienced a few years ago was not so easy to ferret out. I got a phone call from someone who had received a green envelope in the mail with an invitation to a meeting at my house. They were sorry they missed the meeting as they got the invite a day late.

The day late was intentional: the date of the meeting was long before the postmark and the address of my house was off by a couple of numbers. I did not send out the invite.

The subject of the meeting was to discuss the Down Town Specific Plan and Public Safety measure up for a vote (until it was put on the ballot for the UUT).

Both of these issues were ones that I held a strong opinions about. The tone of the invite was to suggest otherwise and confuse my friends.

Nothing came of this bullying as I went to the City Council meeting the very next week, green envelope and invite in hand and read the contents into the public record for all to hear.

As John Crawford did here, with his blog, I did with my voice at the podium.

You have to stand up against these vicious people. Otherwise they will continue to harass and defame and bring harm to those you love and the issues you care about.

    1. yes. you certainly do.

When the bullies had targeted my child one of them thought it would be very clever to submit his name to an etiquette school. They know he is autistic, and thought this would be funny.

Besides being an evil, hateful thing to do, it handed his name to a dozen other solicitors. I managed to shut it down after a couple of awkward (for they and I) phone calls.

What a pathetic place this has turned into.

Who are the two most dangerous enemies of the dirts? Crawford and MaryAnn.
Both have been viciously slandered and both were crime victims.

Does anyone think this is a mere coincidence?

    1. Sullivan owned the sites. Wistar purchased his service. Sullivan is from Oregon. Wistar is likely from Sierra Madre. Sullivan is currently in jail in Oregon with an unposted million dollar bail, Wistar is still running around here somewhere. Clear now? I thought the article was pretty clear myself.

This criminal was hired to do this by some local criminals (Sierra Madre criminals of the dirt variety).
These people have to be exposed for what they are.
They are the same people who have been slandering, committing crimes against honest Sierra Madreans since 2007. It needs to end.

Wistar showed up soon after Crawford went after Robert Matheson.
They tried to nail Crawford. Someone hired this creep, Sullivan to do it.
Moran was lampooned on the Tattler, so was his former roommate.
Most every bad person in town doesn't approve of Crawford.

I disappove of all the bad people in this town....in fact I actually disappove of them living here!

    3. Matheson's arrest scared the bejeezus out of the dirts. He was one of their most prominent and outspoken members. The fact that he was never registered here as a sex offender should be a red flag to everyone in this town.

  15. When you are looking for the criminal it takes a long time to be perfectly correct so that you get the right person in the slammer. The days of Joe McCarthy must not be repeated.

Even tho many of us have huge suspicions who is behind all of this, there must be strong evidence who is the GUILTY party. Cybercrime is very serious and takes a lot of time to prove.

It will all come out because the rats will rat on one another, they are in it for themselves. Let's continue to watch them hang themselves.

    1. Seems that the FBI will be taking their iron clad suspicions to the judge in the very near future. Won't do the DIRTS and the DICS any good to put their houses on market and flee to places less well known. They will be conspicuous by their absence.

  17. What a convenient time for Colantuono and Levin to be packing up and moving on. They've participated in and contributed to other bullying campaigns here in Sierra Madre in the past, but may not escape the consequences this time.

It may just be a coincidence, but I strongly suspect they may have had a part in this "Wistar" episode.

  19. Check your water bill. See if the charges for this past billing cycle represent anything like that for a year ago. We are being asked to conserve water but you CANNOT do that if the city can not read the meters with regular efficiency so you can compare what you are doing this year to last year. Of course, usage can change, especially with rainfall and most water consumption is in landscape watering, but there should be enough similarity to make some sense of it all.

Now that I have your attention, what I am asking you to do is complain to the city if you think your water bill is erroneous. Don't just blindly pay your water bill.

  20. I think Caroline still has the green envelopes and the invitation, which she saved when the city didn't seem to think they could lift any prints for further consideration. Maybe the FBI will be interested if the crime against Crawford leads to someone here in Sierra Madre.

“I did not send out the "invitation" on astrobrite green paper, in the envelope without a return address with the Santa Clarita postal mark. Someone spent a great deal of time and money with this silly project, no doubt in an attempt to embarrass me politically and curtail my right to free speech. The invite was as follows in case you did not get one.”
