More Unhappy News for the Noah Green Campaign

I received the following information in a comment posted here last evening:

Noah's campaign signs are MISSPELLED with the WRONG COMMITTEE name and WRONG Fair Political Practices Commission ID #.

The signs say "PAID FOR BY THE CAMPAIN (sic) FOR NOAH GREEN ID # 136352"

Noah's real committee name is "GREEN FOR SIERRA MADRE CITY COUNCIL 2014" with an FPPC # of 1363523. In his "paid political advertisement" in the Mountain Views News, Noah Green uses yet another erroneous committee name, "The Committee to Elect Noah Green."

What a complete and total mess. This sign might not even be legal.

Noah is an attorney? Certainly this cannot be his best legal work product.

The link to Noah Green's FPPC page is here. Check the numbers.

  6. Cam-Pain is a mission in the video game Grand Theft Auto where the player kills campaign workers.

That video game was found in the collection of Adam Lanza, the Newtown, Connecticut mass child murderer.

Noah Green wrote he felt "compelled" to write about Adam Lanza in the December 22, 2012 issue of the Mountain Views News.

Noah Green also lived in Newton, Connecticut.

The question is what kind of self-destructive need possesses Noah Green?

    1. 2012 is about the time he moved here - sort of shows how conceited this dude is

moves into town and starts writing and promoting himself in the local rag

then he joins the Chamber and becomes friends with Susan Henderson

the dude swings mighty low for recognition

    2. You must know how irrational that connection sounds, right? But I guess it's easier to promote fear than to rely on anything factual - it would take too much effort, right? And based on the other wildly unenlightened post on this candidate, it appears Mr. Green moved here sometime in 2011, but again, this is based on the social media-mined info provided in the previous "report," not from anything resembling journalism. I must add I don't know much about this candidate nor whom I will vote for when the time comes, but I can smell a smear-campaign a mile away, and this is clearly just that.

other than he's all in favor of raising taxes

  8. A campaign committee that spends more than $1,000 is required to register with the California Secretary of State and they are assigned an ID number.

Under California’s Political Reform Act, committees must put “paid for by” disclaimers on campaign advertising, including campaign mailers, radio and television ads, telephone robocalls, and electronic media ads.

A “disclaimer” is the portion of a political message that identifies the person or entity who paid
for or authorized the communication. “Paid for by committee name” is the basic disclaimer
required by the Act on most campaign communications sent by a committee.

This "paid for by" disclaimer is required to be on all mass mailings.

A campaign is not required to but the disclaimer on yard signs although most campaigns do.

Only the Committee name itself is required to be disclosed, not the ID number. Most campaigns include the ID # because some people expect to see it.

So Noah was not required to put a "paid for by" disclaimer on these signs. He did it voluntarily as campaigns often do.

The point is in this voluntary "paid for by" disclosure he:

    1) used the name of a nonexistent committee on his yard signs
    2) misspelled the word "campaign" as "campain"
    3) got his ID number wrong.
    4) used the name of yet another nonexistent campaign committee on his Mountain Views News ad

Although it is possible that the repeated use of nonexistent campaign committee names is a technical violation of California Fair Political Practices regulations, this is more a display of rank stupidity rather than lawbreaking.

Sort of like having pictures of yourself swinging naked in a hammock up in the internet when you are running for office.

  25. Still More Bad News for NoahFebruary 24, 2014 at 10:42 AM

When I went past Nancy Walsh's house post bike ride Sunday I wanted to see if she had a sign for the partying attorney.

At first I was disappointed. I could only see Nancy's sign for JC Professor Gene Goss, which she proudly displayed perpendicular to the street for one and all to see. No sign for party boy. But wait!

On further inspection, buried in the junipers, and parallel to the street so that no one could see it was a sign for the manequin breast biter!

This placement can only mean that Nancy's endorsement of the hot dog chomper is merely luke warm.

    2. lookie here 10:58. we have seen what happens when we elect smart people to the council. lots of bad stuff. john buchannan created one carter. cappocia and korber gave us a water rate increase. joe mosca crafted his words so carefully that his opposition to the DSP almost revived it. yikes!

    3. Um, no. When we get a bunch of clueless wonders on the city council, all they do is bobblehead YES! to everything the city manager asks for. Costs us a fortune. As it is Elaine is pushing for we the taxpayers to supply her band of bozos benefits for the rest of their lives. Measure UUT being the way to pay for that. And besides, do you really think Joe Mosca was smart? Really? Kind of knocks a big gaping hole in your argument.

    2. Sometimes a council member needs to vote for the good of the City, despite their own personal views. Koerber and Capoccia voted for the water rate increase for the good of the city. Koerber, however voted no for the UUT extension because he believes it is not necessary. Capoccia believes it is necessary, even though his belief is that taxes and fees should be kept down. We can't always agree with everything a council member does, we can only know that a council member such as Koerber or Capoccia does his homework, studies the problem, and votes accordingly - something Walsh, Harabedian and Moran didn't always do.

I have worked in Sierra Madre, got married in Sierra Madre, have been going to St. Ritas church my entire life, and have alot of friends in Sierra Madre and to have had the opportunity to know Noah as a down to earth genuine all around well rounded person, and I consider him a friend. To listen and watch as people say the inconsiderate things as to how he spends his personal time on his own.. and the portray it in a way to say that it says something to disperage him just due to the fact that these people dont want a fresh start in Sierra Madre is saddening So he knows how to "let things go and have a good time" what is so wrong with that.. I have spoken to two of my friends that live in Sierra Madre recently and they are complaining that the water is yellow because of how low the water table is getting, and that real change needs to come to Sierra Madre so if that is what you "the citizens of Sierra Madre want" then Noah Green is your candidate. He will focus on what needs to be done. because it seems as though some want to have the people of Sierra Madre to focus in on what someone did in jest and take away the focus of what really needs to change and how Noah Green make sure it gets done.
