I Received A Gene Goss Postcard That I Can Agree With

~ Click to enlarge ~

I have begun to believe that Gene Goss may very well be the worst candidate to run for Sierra Madre's City Council in quite some time. I know, that is saying a lot. But look at it this way, there is no real election contest left here, OK? There are three seats up for your consideration, with only three viable candidates remaining. This election has for all intents and purposes already been decided.

Noah Green took himself out of serious contention when he posted lewd and frankly disturbing photos of himself on his Facebook page (link). So why would Gene Goss feel he needs to make such foolish and obviously false claims as those listed above, only to later find himself being exposed for not having told the truth? Which is, of course, exactly what has happened here.

If Goss said these kinds of things in a virtually no-contest small city election, what is he going to do if he actually gets a seat on our City Council? Apparently a part of the tax, spend and waste crowd, will you be able to trust him to make honest decisions on matters such as how best to use millions of dollars in your hard earned tax money?

Whose debt will he be in? The same municipal employee unions responsible for City Hall's $35,000 dollar a year health plans, which are possibly the most expensive in the State of California? The Calderon crime family? The Los Angeles County political machine, which rivals the one found in Cook County as the most corrupt in America?

I think you will agree, we have seen more than enough of Gene Goss's style of politics and government here in Sierra Madre.

  1. It's obvious Goss gets a seat. So what your saying is were in for 4 more years of the same Walsh and Moran lies but with someone who can tell some really big ones and make people believe him. Guess that's government, bleed us with lies.

    1. Is it any surprise that one of Goss's biggest supporters is also one of the biggest liars to ever serve on our Council - John Buchanan?

Buchanan (along with Mosca - then Moran/Walsh), Buchanan seized upon a busted water main to declare a city emergency meeting to claim that our water infrastructure was on the verge of immediate collapse so he could push through a utility tax - no surprise that Buchanan worked for a utility company and he was hiding the later discovered fact that he was trying to use his proposed utility tax to get matching federal funds so he could build a new 7 milliion dollar library.

Goss doesn't deserve to be on the Council - I'm writing in a 3rd choice so if Green or Goss gets elected both will know they are not wanted on the Council and their opinons and votes are without welcome.

      Goss = Buchanan

and I put Noah in the Joe Mosca category - he has said whatever you want to hear and only lived in the city a short while before he (another lawyer mouth) decided that the city needed him and we don't.

    2. PLEASE tell the Tattlers if you received this card. So far I don't know if anyone has received one.
Perhaps only 2 were printed. Just enough to be able to do a story about it and make people think
that it was coming from a candidate that was not maligned.

how many days ago? today? yesterday?

cause if Susan got it at the same time, she must have moved quick to have her response to the postcard make the paper that is out today - I haven't seen her paper today so is her response online or in the actual paper?

something doesn't add up cause usually the paper is closed earlier in the week and she's already at press so either she was aware of the postcard before it was mailed, she had something to do with it or she is amazingly fast to change and edit her paper

We are stuck with two bad guys working against the residents, Harabedian and Capoccia. All the city crooks need is one more vote for a majority. If one or both of the women are plants? They will have a super majority.

He's never had a real job in his life, screwed California big time on his first go around as Governor by giving public employees collective bargaining rights (unionizing capabilities), set the stage for fiscal collapse in California, gave the prison workers union their biggest sweetheart deal in history, and does little to nothing on correcting the pension crisis moving forward. He should be awarded his choice of lynching, electrocution, or the gas chamber. None of which get any use in this backwards state.

  11. Just once it would be nice to have a City Council that was working for the residents. All we ever get is the city wanting more money. Unfortunately for me paying the highest taxes in the state, or is that states, is not producing the results that I feel we should be getting. As an example just look at the water situation. We use to have some of the best water around, now we don't. This problem is no surprise, unfortunately the city has failed to act in our best interests and look what it got us. Now the water is just one of the problems our town has so lets hope this new council can do better than the last council has done us.

  15. Stop peeing your pants. This card appropriately holds Goss responsible for lying in his campaign and shows that in Sierra Madre, if you lie or you break campaign promises then there are consequences, Goss volunteered his ridiculous "pledge" he never intended to keep in order to fool people and now he gets held to account. The #1 target starting the day after the election is lying John Capoccia.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I personally don't think Goss lied. I think he's too stupid to realize withat he was pledging. Too many tenured years with no challenges, too many fauning seniors patting his silver head and telling he is just what Sierra Madre needs. Goss will be elected but hopefully he'll be mitigated by Arizmendi and Delmar. Gawd forbid that creepy Green manniquin/baby doll molestor gets the vote.

      Delete
    2. Actually, Goss borrowed his "non acceptance of outside endorsements and money" pledge from Koerber's previous campaign. His plan for what he wants to do for the city if elected, if you read his full page ad, is also heavily borrowed from what the council has already instituted. Not an original thought to be found in poor old Gene's head, I'm afraid.

  20. The article in the Mountain Views News calling the mailer "illegal" and criminal because it doesn't identify the sender or a return address assumes facts not in evidence.

In fact, these requirements exist only if $1,000 or more was spent on the mailer. If less than $1,000 was spent the FPPC has no jurisdiction and none of the FPPC's rules or regulations cited by the Mountain Views News apply.

This is a demand that the Mountain Views News immediately print a correction on its website and Facebook page.for calling this political communication "illegal". The Mountain Views News has absolutely zero evidence that is true.

In addition, if the Mountain Views News has coordinated this potentially false, defamatory and libelous article with either or both of the Goss or Green campaigns then the Mountain Views News has made a contribution to those campaigns which must be reported.

  34. I love the screeching by the woman (Susan Henderson) and the beta male (Bill Coburn) on their respective websites.

If you run for local office and support raising local taxes you get push back. Pretty simple, straightforward and routine.

What is interesting is the reaction to this shows the experience or lack thereof of the candidates.

Rachelle (Dorothy) acts like a mature business professional, doesn't react and says she thinks it's ineffective.
Lefty tinman Noah is awesomely defiant and tells Coburn that all the quotes attributed to him are accurate and he stands by them.

Weak and cowardly lion Goss stammers and tries to "explain" why he isn't really truly lying.

Delmar and her supporters grossly overreact out of some misplaced fear to what is basically a fairly routine piece of hit mail that has nothing to do with them.

    Politics ain't beanbag people.

    What is best in life?
