Pasadena Star News Article On The Arcadia GemCoin Ponzi Scandal Hits Hard

-
People have been asking me where has the Pasadena Star News been on the Arcadia GemCoin Ponzi scandal. Up until now we had heard very little from our local daily newspaper of record on this topic, and some wondered why. All I can say is that it was worth the wait as reporter Courtney Tompkins has delivered a devastating article, one that kicks this scandal up to a whole new level. To view the entire thing please click here.

There is an entire series of revelations contained in this article, and all of it deserves your undivided attention. We apparently have now entered into the investigative and legal phase of this scandal, and there is today an impressive array of government agencies on the case. The effort to bring down Steve Chen and John Wuo has become a very serious one.

That said, here are three passages that I thought really stood out.

Arcadia-based company connected to councilman under investigation

Now we all know John Wuo has claimed that he knew nothing about GemCoins, Steve Chen or his company, USFIA. So in what unlikely location did Pasadena Star News reporter Courtney Tompkins run into John Wuo on Monday?

Maybe Steve Chen and John Wuo were having a paper shredding party. Or dismantling some of that vast arsenal of high powered weaponry stashed at USFIA headquarters. Which, as you know, is the also home to the world renowned GemCoin empire. The crypto-currency that was used to defraud thousands of people both worldwide and right here in California.

But the really big news is contained in the final passage I am citing today.

That is quite an impressive array of Federal and state law enforcement firepower. My guess is that John Wuo, Steve Chen and the rest of the GemCoin gang are toast and even they know it.

Obviously we are now getting into the next level of what has become a very serious criminal investigation. Stay tuned.

Blow by blow BehindMLM.com article on last night's Arcadia City Council meeting

Here is how it kicks off:

There is a whole lot more, including news of how the Chinese Daily USA has scrubbed all references to GemCoins, John Wuo and Steve Chen from its website. The newspaper is owned by Councilmember Sho Tay. Click here.

Pretty disturbing.

  3. Time to put ankle GPS tracking units on all three of them and take back their passports just for safe keeping would want them to all get lost at once. Of course they would all consent to this simple terms if they didn't have anything to hide?

    1. What are the odds these culprits will flee? It's a sure thing.
Even so, don't think you can slap ankle bracelets on people unless they've been formally charged or convicted.

  5. I was there last night. The CC must have been advised not to speak about Gem Coins. Tay spoke randomly and frankly, I'm not sure he understands English. Chandler was the worst. The closest thing to a criminal is a cop, ya know. While the Mayor preached civility, (no clapping), he allowed Chandler to insult the audience. I don't have words to describe Chandler. He is way beyond the usual words I might use. The City Attorney is another rude one. There were great speakers last night. They managed to include the city manager, wuo, tay and chandler in most of their comments. What a travesty!

    1. Chandler is his own worst enemy. Everytime he opens his trap he wins more signatures for the petition.

    2. Chandler will be mayor in the Spring, when the only real gentleman on the council rotates out of the position. Good luck.

  6. Oh Sho -

You probably didn't know, some of us already saved all of that content in the event you "lost" it.

Thank you for your kind efforts, which help to prove you involvement.

    6. Mayor Pro Tem Chandler is very bad news. I don't think it's helpful really to equate him with Goebbels, but he's certainly capable of doing lots of damage while he's on the council.
Nothing is more important to Arcadia's slim chance of saving itself than changing the codes and zoning rules that have allowed what has happened to happen.

    7. Chandler is in the pocket of the Arcadia Realtors.

  8. These guys are a flight risk. The FBI needs to get in their and seize documents. As I write this those thieves are shredding as fast as they can. But hey if the victims of the Ponzi scheme can't muster enough courage to do something then they get what they deserve. Maybe we ought to all just stay out of it and let the Chinese work it out. It may be an internal Communist thing.

FBI don't work that way. If they thought people are a flight risk, they'll just put a filter on the airport computers. Any one booking a flight out gets a priority warning to the responsible agent.

How did you think they nabbed TelexFree perp's wife (as material witness) on the East Coast? She's about to jump on a plane. Her hubby had skipped town already with daughter by driving to Canada then getting on a plane to Europe then Brazil.

If people want to run it's much easier to drive into Mexico.

  10. Think about how far the Star News has fallen without the leadership it used to have. We are celebrating their late reporting on a story that's been in the LA Times and on Fox News. There is no time for a victory lap. John Wuo is still standing.

  14. Reading their event promo in Toronto (January 2015) with Leonard S. Johnson telling everybody about how he's standing in for Steve Chen and announcing "AFG's USFIA Currency Fund Starring Gemcoin" after USFIA's "denial" is rather hilarious and results in explosive discharge of mouth stomach content.

(Don't worry, plenty of people have this archived)

And this ain't the only event and PR they did. They were in SF, LA, Toronto, Montreal, NY, all the major Chinese communities, basically.

If you dig you can find them. Only proves how much of a liar they are.
