Is The Mountain Views News In The Tank For Michael Antonovich?

How in the world did local political main man Michael Antonivich manage to get three articles about himself printed in this weekend's Mountain Views News? Michael, as I am sure you know, is the termed out Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors denizen who is now attempting to remain on the governmental gravy train by moving on to a seat in the California State Senate. His opponent is Anthony Portantino, the famed opponent of the disastrous 710 Tunnel.

But three articles in the same edition of Sierra Madre's adjudicated newspaper? That seems excessive. Is there a price tag attached to something like that? Are Susan Henderson and Michael dating? Do they share a mutual passion for the Beach Boys? Has the Looney Views News become an Antonovich fanzine?

Here are the three articles. The first one literally gushes.

Perhaps the Anthony Portantino campaign might want to inquire about his opponent receiving so much coverage in what is a taxpayer supported publication?

  1. Portantino needs a better campaign manager. The last two articles you show are obviously press releases sent out to all the print media by the Antonovich people and, because Susan doesn't like to work too hard, she ran them.

  2. Get on board, gravy train for all. Looney tune paper gets paid to reprint press releases. The Supervisor, who really use to work for his public; appears to now spin the same go nowhere do nothing dribble that all politicians spin.
Fancy titles and bigger words are used in attempt to show help for kids in foster care. Looks like the system just created more government jobs.
When a kid turns 18, or maybe now its 21? They are put in the street with a few dollars in their pockets from the same system that raised them, until there is an opening for housing, and maybe some job training. Why not just give the fancy new governmen tiitles to these kids? They know how the system works.

  3. I do believe there are two serious issues coming from the 'snake pit' called the L.A. County Supervisors, R2 a fifty year Metro tax and a Parcel Tax both are be be voted on in November 2016. Why would anyone want to compound SoCal's over taxed problem on themselves at Voting Poll's residents have had enough of these taxes they never sunset instead they take on a life of their own?

  4. Most so-called news found in the MVN is aimed at the congenitally clueless and baffled. It looks like the Antonovich campaign is using these kinds of dumb bunny papers to go after the dotty vote.

    1. They do the same thing with most of the local community papers, particularly in San Marino and Alhambra which supposedly support the 710 tunnel at the City Council level.

  5. I thought Susan was a Democrat. Why is she pushing for a Republican candidate?

      Maybe she's a Republican, again.

  6. The MVN shows the current state of what passes for journalism. Too lazy to actually report, much of the content is cut and paste from press releases from PR flacks. Shaking my head.

    1. What Susan's paper specializes in is fawning over the city officials that send her money. She does city hall public relations, not news.

  7. The city of Alhambra is throwing a party for the tunnel in the evening on July 10, 2016 at Freemont and Valley.
I hope they will discuss earthquake preparation for exiting the underground tunnel that is designed with very few exists.

  8. The life of there own is in job creation, for the R2 metro tax and parcel tax. The poorest neighborhoods vote and ride metro , when is the last time you saw anyone from any city hall taking the metro in order to keep their appointments?

    1. We should tell SCAG that we project a 100,000 population increase in Sierra Madre. That way they would build us a Gold Line station in Kersting Court.

Sad that nobody noticed this yet though.

  10. Evolution in homeless help. Good article in LA Times this am. The Salvation Army and LA Family Housing both do phenomenal work in this area. Maybe Kuehl and Antonovich will work inside the political soiree's and convince others to donate empty government buildings for the saving of humanity/homeless.

  11. It's all about the money, the money will come from more city taxes, can anyone tell me why the residents must pay more taxes when there is no benefit for the tax payer?
