Encinitas City Council Race Update: 16 Candidates Now In The Running

 Mosca
With tomorrow night being the moment when this historic selection is to be made, supporters of the Joe Mosca campaign were dismayed to learn last week that the field of candidates for appointment to that empty Encinitas City Council seat has now ballooned to 16 hopefuls. All of them having lived in Encinitas far longer than our restlessly a-wandering Mr. Mosca. Here is how local newser The Coast News boils down all of the latest breaking action for concerned residents (link).

The lucky individual selected tomorrow evening by the Encinitas City Council to join them in deliberating upon the big decisions facing this at times troubled - though always delightfully vibrant - seaside community will serve until December 2018. After which the appointee will actually have to face real voters should he or she decide they wish to continue in office.

All of these many candidates will speak briefly before the Encinitas City Council about their qualifications and dreams, and we will be live streaming the entire event here at The Tattler. The excitement kicks off at 6PM tomorrow evening.

Here is how this agenda item is described on the City of Encinitas website (link):

Each of the 16 hopefuls under consideration has issued a statement explaining their reasons for seeking a place at the Encinitas City Council dais. And while all of them care deeply about their town, none more so than Joe Mosca. Just like he did when he was saying very similar things about Sierra Madre not all that long ago (link).

Complex land-use challenges indeed. As always, Joe just wants to make a difference.

You are not going to want to miss this one!

  1. With four individuals on Council supporting Measure T, the "fix is in" developers are salivating.
I hope that the Encinitas voters won't be fooled into thinking this pro development council has their best interests.
Joe. M. is a wolf in sheeps clothing.
There is nothing in his background that says responsible slow growth for Encinitas, we in Sierra Madre paid the price for rushing into office someone whose background was not known and whose best interests were for himself.
If the Homeowners Association in Encinitas should require the name of a great land use Attorney, that name will be gladly passed along.

    1. Yup, the fix is in alright. 4 pro development, one more makes it unanimous. The H.A is going to need the name of that great attorney!

    2. They do take care of their own, don't they? Our boy goes from gas company to gas company, city to city.

    6. Too bad the position is appointed. I cannot imagine the existing members choosing anyone who is not pro development. Come to think of it, with 4 votes, they win anyway. It's so wicked.

  2. Could you post the email addresses of the city council members, so we can tell them exactly how he was involved in government! Thanks.

  3. 16 candidates talking about themselves at a city council meeting? This won't end until 4am.

  4. Good heavens, he hasn't changed his material at all. I guess the formula is successful - go around and tell the preservationists that he is on their side, then let the developers know he's really on their side, but he won't say it publicly until he's elected. Worked here.
"Our beautiful community and our unique way of life" ? C'mon Joe.

  8. Hello every one my names are Clifford Esther from UK, I want to use this golden medium to appreciate Priest Oduma a great spell caster for helping me retrieving back my relationship with my ex lover when he ended and turned back on me for quite a long time now (6 months ago). He performed a spell for me and within 48 hours after the spell had been cast I receive a text from my ex saying that he is sorry for the pains and tears that he had caused me and that he will not do such thing to me again in his life. I was surprised but later accepted him back again. Anyone that is in the same line of problem or different one that want to contact a spell caster should happily contact Priest Oduma now.

  9. Encinitas has 4 council members for construction, how many are up for re-election in 2 years? So what is the con, Joe always votes against construction and winds the election in 2 years only to be on the other side and then votes in the construction that industry wants. Puts up a good show till that election then turns on Encinitas like he did in Sierra Madre. Eyes wide open Encinitas, it's your city.

  11. Hopefully the people will realize what Joe Mosca is all about before he gets into any position where he can wield some power.
