Trump Drops To New Low, Close To 2-1 Disapproval, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds

Mod: The clearly incompetent Donald Trump continues to rapidly swirl down the political drain. How soon will it be before the Republican Party wakes up to the fact that the crazy guy in the White House is leading them to historic defeats in 2018?

Trump Drops To New Low, Close To 2-1 Disapproval, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; 71 Percent Say President Is Not Levelheaded (Quinnipiac University Poll link): President Donald Trump plunges to a new low as American voters disapprove 61 - 33 percent of the job he is doing, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today. White men are divided 47 - 48 percent and Republicans approve 76 - 17 percent. White voters with no college degree, a key part of the president's base, disapprove 50 - 43 percent.

Today's approval rating is down from a 55 - 40 percent disapproval in a June 29 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University. This is President Trump's lowest approval and highest disapproval number since he was inaugurated.

American voters say 54 - 26 percent that they are embarrassed rather than proud to have Trump as president. Voters say 57 - 40 percent he is abusing the powers of his office and say 60 - 36 percent that he believes he is above the law.

President Trump is not levelheaded, say 71 - 26 percent of voters, his worst score on that character trait. Voter opinions of most other Trump qualities drop to new lows:

62 - 34 percent that he is not honest;
63 - 34 percent that he does not have good leadership skills;
59 - 39 percent that he does not care about average Americans;
58 - 39 percent that he is a strong person;
55 - 42 percent that he is intelligent;
63 - 34 percent that he does not share their values.

"It's hard to pick what is the most alarming number in the troubling trail of new lows for President Donald Trump," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

"Profound embarrassment over his performance in office and deepening concern over his level-headedness have to raise the biggest red flags.

"The daily drip drip of missteps and firings and discord are generating a tidal wave of bad polling numbers.

"Is there a wall big enough to hold it back?"

American voters give Arizona Sen. John McCain a 57 - 32 percent favorability rating, with a 74 - 18 percent positive score from Democrats and a 60 - 28 percent positive rating from independent voters. Republicans give McCain a negative 39 - 49 percent rating.

Trump gets a negative 34 - 61 percent favorability rating, with a 79 - 17 percent positive score from Republicans. All other groups are negative, with white men at 47 - 48 percent.

That Russian Thing

The president "has attempted to derail or obstruct the investigation into the Russian interference in the 2016 election," American voters believe 58 - 37 percent.

Voters believe 63 - 31 percent that the Russian government interfered in the 2016 election. Republicans don't believe it 61 - 30 percent, while every other group believes by wide margins that the Russians interfered. Trump did something illegal in dealing with Russia, 30 percent of voters say, while 30 percent say he did something unethical, but not illegal and 32 percent say he did nothing wrong. These numbers are similar for Donald Trump Jr. and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

American voters give Trump negative approval ratings for handling key issues:

41 - 52 percent for handling the economy;
36 - 59 percent for foreign policy;
46 percent approve of his handling of terrorism and 47 percent disapprove;
38 - 59 percent for immigration;
28 - 65 percent for health care.

Trump's Tweets

Trump should stop tweeting from his personal Twitter account, American voters say 69 - 27 percent, the biggest no-tweet vote so far.

  4. Let's be a little more balanced.
    I agree that we should investigate to see if their was any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. But let's also investigate the following regarding Hillary Clinton:
    1. Deleting 33,000 emails.
    2. Destroying some of her mobile devices with a hammer.
    3. Her lawyers turning in other devices but without the SIM cards.
    4. Using bleachbit to wipe her server.
    5. Approving the sale of 20 percent of the US uranium reserves to Russia at the same time her husband received $500,000 from a Russian company for a speech and the Clinton Foundation receiving donations of 145 million from Russian government connected entities.
    6. How the Clintons personally made about 200 million dollars over the last 15 years while working in government jobs.
    7. How the Clinton foundation took in billions of dollars from foreign governments who received favors in return.
    8. Mishandling classified top secret emails.
    9. While she was under an FBI investigation, Attorney General Loretta Lynch tells FBI Director Comey to refer to the Clinton email investigation as a "matter" rather than an "investigation".
    10. Bill Clinton meeting on the tarmac for a private meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch just a few days before the FBI Director says she will not be prosecuted.
    I know these 10 things don't seem very suspicious but let's see what a Special Prosecutor does with that.

    1. What does Clinton have to do with Trump's treason? You make no sense here. Plus most of the Clinton stuff was already investigated. Troy Gowdy spent millions of taxpayer dollars on that nonsense and came up with nothing. My opinion here is you are attempting to enable the traitor president by throwing up a smokescreen of nothing much. This makes you something very bad.

    But in the public life? Impossible to tolerate. Nothing could be more anti-American.
    There is a very good reason that all Americans have heard about George Washington confessing that he chopped down a cherry tree.

    What would truly be interesting is what would General Washington have done if members of his Continental Army had relationships with King George and the British royalty like the relationships the Trump family and their supporters have with Putin and the Russian oligarchs?

    What do you think General Washington would do?

  23. Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be White Supremacists
    By Jenn Budd

    There's nothing like the nerve of this administration. They are the epitome of hypocrisy, a snake oil sales team, a con job like no one's ever seen.

    On Monday evening, they announced that the Department of Justice was seeking to investigate universities for violating the civil rights of white students by enforcing affirmative action laws in their admissions processes. Because if there's one thing the United States is known for, it's being prejudiced against whites or so the Trump cabal would like you to think. Basically, it was a big ole middle finger to Americans of color. Then the very next day, they created a giant hullabaloo to announce that they would be cutting immigration in half because it was unfair for legal immigrants to take the jobs of African and Hispanic Americans.

    Taking these two events together, it would seem Trump's plan for black and brown Americans is to make it harder for them to obtain a higher education which would then allow them to be available to clean Trump's hotels. Something he will need since he won't be able to bring in foreign workers any longer. This is apparently the jobs program Trump had in mind when he asked African Americans during the election to vote for him because as he said, "What have you got to lose?"

    This tweet from Representative Maxine Waters stated it best:

    Trump asked what Blacks had to lose. It was apparently healthcare, housing, college admission, & freedom after Sessions locks everyone up

    — Maxine Waters (@MaxineWaters) August 2, 2017

    I can only imagine the Trump team standing in the Oval Office having one giant white supremacist circle jerk about how to get the most bang for their buck at yesterday's press conference. The choice to use Stephen Miller, America's Nazi-lite Goebbels, who spent his college years hating himself for being Jewish enough to align with the white supremacist Richard Spencer, was classic dog whistling at its best.

    Miller chose CNN's Jim Acosta for a reason. This was a purposefully calculated plan knowing that Acosta is not afraid to push back hard against the administration's racist policies. Miller was also keenly aware that Acosta comes from an immigrant family and would most likely be offended by the new requirement that immigrants must be proficient in the English language in order to apply, a requirement that one could genuinely argue would make the president ineligible for immigration

    Miller should not quit his day job as Trump's baby Goebbels; he's a terrible actor. He might as well have swayed in a genteel southern way and proclaimed, "Well, I'll be. How dare you impugn my intentions!" In typical white supremacist circular logic, Miller actually had the nerve to accuse Acosta of being racist. How dare Acosta be intolerant of his intolerance! It was too much to take for the New York Times' Glenn Thrush who could be seen sitting behind Acosta shaking his head and laughing in what I assume was disbelief at the nerve of this idiot. Thankfully, Congress has no intention of letting this joke of an immigration plan see the light of day, but then the Trump team already knew that. This was about baiting and fluffing their base.

    Trump was right about one thing, the White House is a dump, but only because he's filled it with white trash. The last two days should be recorded for historical purposes to teach future generations what happens when we don't learn our history and we allow white supremacists to grow in the dark.
