White House will ‘Look Into’ Fox News' Decision to Stop Broadcasting Trump Rallies

Mod: It looks like the ratings for Trump's rant-a-thons aren't what quite they used to be, and Fox News has decided there are more important things to cover. You know, Hurricanes, international financial crisis, stock market collapse, boring stuff like that.

White House Will ‘Look Into’ Fox News' Decision to Stop Broadcasting Trump Rallies (The Daily Beast link): The White House has vowed to “look into” a decision taken by Fox News to stop broadcasting Donald Trump’s rallies live and in full because they’re no longer bringing in high ratings.

Politico reports viewing figures for Trump rallies have dropped and tend to be similar to, or even below, those for regular programming. The network only showed clips of his three rallies over the last week, rather than broadcasting the whole events uninterrupted. The report states White House figures are concerned Trump is losing control of a key platform ahead of the midterms.

One senior White House official told Politico they were unsure why the network is cutting away from the rallies, saying officials planned “to look into that” and that they expect White House Communications Director Bill Shine, a former Fox News executive, to be in touch with his former colleagues about the move.

Mod: The stock market might be in a state of collapse, and a deadly hurricane is ravaging the south, but bring on that insane Kanye West White House visit anyway.

Don Lemon Slams Kanye’s Oval Office ‘Minstrel Show,’ Says Rapper’s Mom ‘Rolling Over in Her Grave’ (Mediaite link): CNN’s Don Lemon tore into Kanye West‘s Oval Office meeting with President Donald Trump, incensed by what he called an embarrassment to the African American community and America itself.

“What I saw was a minstrel show today,” Lemon said Thursday during an interview with his colleagues at the network. “Him in front of all these white people, mostly white people, embarrassing himself and embarrassing Americans, but mostly African Americans because every one of them is sitting either at home or with their phones, watching this, cringing. I couldn’t even watch it. I had to turn the television off because it was so hard to watch.”

Earlier in the day, West had lunch with the president just after appearing in front of a room full of reporters in the Oval Office. Rather than participating in photo ops at the White House, Lemon said the rapper should address his mental health, imploring those who know him to “grab him, snatch him up and get Kanye together because Kanye needs help.”

Then, Lemon then took issue with those who sent cameras to the event.

“This has nothing to do with being liberal or a conservative,” he said. “This has to do with honesty. And we have to stop pretending, sitting here on these CNN panels or whatever network panels, and pretending like this is normal and let’s have this conversation about Kanye West. Who cares? Why are you sending cameras to the Oval Office for Kanye West?”

Mod: Sad to see Jared Kushner can't keep his stupid mouth shut. But not surprising.

Saudi crown prince bragged that Jared Kushner gave him CIA intelligence about other Saudis saying 'here are your enemies' days before 'corruption crackdown' which led to torture and death (The Daily Mail link): Sources have told DailyMail.com that the prince – known by his initials MBS – has been boasting about his close relationship with the president's son-in-law and senior adviser, and the intelligence which he has told his circle Kushner passed to him. He also told members of his circle that the intelligence included information on who was disloyal to him. There is no way to independently verify the truth of the boast.

'Jared took a list out of names from US eavesdrops of people who were supposedly MBS's enemies,' said one source, characterizing how MBS spoke about the information.

'He took a list out of these people who had been trashing MBS in phone calls, and said 'these are the ones who are your enemies'.

Mod: The stock market collapse continued into its 6th day yesterday. Donald made sure to blame everyone else.

Dow drops nearly 550 points, sending its two-day loss total to nearly 1,400 points (The Washington Post link): U.S. markets suffered deeper losses Thursday, following on a global rout as investors lost their nerve over rising U.S. interest rates and fresh worries about an economic slowdown.

Concerns about U.S.-China ties weighed heavily, too. U.S. markets rebounded briefly after it was announced that President Trump would meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping at next month’s G-20 summit in Buenos Aires to discuss the intensifying trade conflict.

The Dow Jones industrial average ended the day down 2.1 percent, or 546 points, pushing the two day loss to nearly 1,400 points. The broad-index Standard & Poor’s 500-stock index was off 2 percent. The tech-heavy Nasdaq notched its second day of trouble with a 1.3 percent loss.

The markets landed in the red despite a government report that showed consumer prices rose less than expected last month. U.S. consumer prices rose 0.1 percent in September, following a 0.2 percent increase in August.

  1. So...their viewership is down...people are bored...and Trump is now telling FOX what they have to broadcast? This is too effing funny! The truth is...even Trump fans only go to his rallies for the show, the live, rambling meltdown... and THEIR numbers are even way down. It's the same regurgitated crap we've seen for 2 1/2 years, and people don't tune in for it. A minute of highlights is enough for the most ardent Trumpers. He doesn't help candidates where he holds rallies.

  5. Two AZ GOPers Posed As Communists To Make Damaging Contribution To Dem

Two Republicans posed as members of the Northern Arizona University Communist Party to make a damaging donation to Rep. Tom O’Halleran (D-AZ), who is running for reelection next month, according to a Friday Guardian story.

The two men’s attempts to tie the congressman to communism seem to have been clumsily done.

They came into O’Halleran’s campaign office bearing a jar of $39.68, demanding a receipt paid to the communist organization.

Per the Guardian, finance director Lindsay Coleman immediately drove to the local Republican field office to return the money. One of the men posing as a communist emerged and accepted the jar. Coleman said that his partner in the donation attempt was a field organizer for the Arizona Republican Party.

The state party did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Real Clear Politics classifies Arizona’s first district, in which O’Halleran is facing Republican challenger Wendy Rogers, as “leans Democratic.”

  11. That's ok...they will tangle with Trump and the whole government will be Republican in his 2nd term and then the real fun begins. For at least the next two years the Senate will stay republican and Trump will continue to pack the courts with originalist judges. Cocaine Mitch just made the Dims agree to confirm another 15 judges this month or he wouldnt let them go home to campaign. You've lost the federal judiciary for a generation and you can't get your rancid polices (abortion, gay marriage, etc) enacted/protected without the courts.

    3. Actually only the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee can request a tax return for inspection. You cannot hold a public hearing and discuss the materials obtained.

Maxine Waters isn't on that committee. If the Dems take control the chairman will be Richard Neal. Anyone who discloses information from the returns can be imprisoned.

Perhaps in addition to his Bipolar Disorder (which I earnestly believe given his many theatrics) he's suffering from some kind of form of Stockholm Syndrome. IDK, you decide.

There's not a damn thing they can do to force coverage that's losing a network money...nothing, nada, nil, zip, zero, zilch!
