Willie Nelson's new hit "Vote 'Em Out" performed before 55,000 cheering Beto O'Rourke fans in Texas

Mod: Famed country music legend Willie Nelson has just released a big new song, and it was premiered the other night in front of a whole lot of happy folks in Austin, TX

Link to video here.

Mod: Of course, this wasn't just a concert. It was also a very important political event.

Lyin' Ted Cruz missed the show.
BETO O'ROURKE HAD THE LARGEST POLITICAL RALLY FOR A CANDIDATE SINCE THE 2016 ELECTION: REPORT (Newsweek link): Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke hosted the largest single-candidate political rally in the country since the 2016 presidential election, according to a report in the Wall Street JournalO'Rourke's political rally was held Saturday alongside country music singer Willie Nelson in the outdoor Austin, Texas amphitheater, Auditorium Shores.

Campaign estimates for attendance were all in excess of 50,000 people, with local estimates placing the number in attendance at around 55,000, making it the largest political rally for one candidate since at least 2016.

Rep. O'Rourke, of El Paso, Texas, is in a heated U.S. Senate race with Republican incumbent Ted Cruz that has drawn continued national attention.

In August, President Donald Trump tweeted in support of a one-time political opponent he frequently called a liar, and whose father he once accused of involvement in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Mod: And then there is this important video news report.

Ted Cruz kisses his daughter ...  it doesn't go well (BBC Newsnight)

Mod: You do have to feel a little sorry for the kid. It is not easy or pleasant being kissed by someone who breathes through his tongue.

    1. And the republicans claimed they were against wealth redistribution as being socialist...

Trump gave $12B to farmers to offset his tariff war on China who retaliated with a soybean tariff. There are about 300k soybean farmers. That’s $40,000 per, which is about four times the average per-capita welfare recipient.

    2. Wow, neat stat. Don’t forget to include the stat from Apr 2 when it dropped 500 points when he attacked Amazon. Or Aug 30, when it slipped 150 points when he backed Chinese tariffs. And all the ups and downs before and since.

The world is more complicated and subtle than you want it to be.

  17. 10:48am then if you don't drive why would you care? You like paying taxes? Our taxes already go for road and infrastructure, is it that you like to be doubled taxed? Are you dealing with a Full Deck?

    1. You only pay gas taxes if you buy gas. Try and understand that.

      Delete
    2. Dealing with a full deck? Why so hostile. Yes, I do like to lay taxes for the services provided to me. Here’s an example. I’m a regular hiker. Not too long ago they initiated a USDA Adventure Pass system which is a form of usage tax. I’d prefer to hike for free but I pay my way because I use the trails. Millions of others don’t, and I don’t mind that they don’t pay.

Is it a double tax? Debatable.

    1. John Oliver did a good segment on Kavanaugh yesterday. The unanswered question is... why trump so obsessed with Kavanaugh?

Other right wing judges are out there who will vote the same and are presumably less offensive. But trump is obsessed with Kavanaugh because his ego is at stake.

I prefer to hike for free and we pick up litter left along the way from the pay as I go group of hikers that feel they are entitled to litter since they pay the USDA Adventure Pass fee, they act like they are visiting a wilderness zoo, along with feeding the bears their sandwiches they leave trash.
