Trump supporters portrayed as the stupidest, most gullible people on earth in merciless column

Mod: This is not exactly breaking news or anything, but it could confirm something that you already thought you knew.

Trump supporters portrayed as the stupidest, most gullible people on earth in merciless column (Raw Story link): Despite the seemingly never-ending controversies that have bedeviled the Trump administration, Republican voters continue to support the President at high levels. According to a Gallup poll, Trump’s approval rating among Republicans is at 90 percent.

On Friday, Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson wondered why, noting that Trump has failed to deliver on most of his campaign promises.

“I’ve got the perfect slogan for President Trump’s reelection campaign,” Robinson writes. “Promises Made, Promises Not Kept, But I’m Betting My Voters Are Too Stupid to Notice.”

Robinson lays out all the promises Trump has broken, chief among them his pledge to build a wall that Mexico would pay for.

Trump promised to build a wall along the 2,000-mile southern border, with the cost of the “big, beautiful” barrier to be borne by Mexico,” Robinson writes. “Result: Not a single mile of Trump’s wall has been built.”

But that’s not the President’s only failure. There’s also the global economy.

Trump promised to reverse trade policies that he said allowed the rest of the world to play Americans for suckers,” Robinson writes. “Result: The Commerce Department announced Wednesday that the overall U.S. trade deficit in goods last year soared to an all-time high of $891 billion. The deficit with China, Trump’s principal target — the amount by which the value of imported goods exceeded the value of exported goods — reached a record $419 billion.” Trump has also not lived up to promises on North Korean de-nuclearization, a revamp of the Affordable Care Act, infrastructure, and his promise to “drain the swamp” in Washington.

Result: Perhaps the most corrupt administration in U.S. history, riddled with nepotism and teeming with swamp creatures.”

Given all of that policy failure, Robinson concludes that Trump must be banking on the stupidity of his followers to get re-elected.

“He apparently believes his loyal supporters are the dumbest, most gullible people on earth. We shall see if he’s right.”

Julian Assange arrested on US extradition warrant, London police say (The New York Times link): Julian Assange, the WikiLeaks founder who released reams of secret documents that embarrassed the United States government, was arrested by the British police on Thursday at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London, where he had lived since 2012, after Ecuador withdrew the asylum it had granted him. The Metropolitan Police said that Mr. Assange had been detained partly in connection with an extradition warrant filed by the authorities in the United States, where he could face of a charge of computer hacking, according to an American official, if he is extradited.

  1. Come on, who can honestly say that Trump is smart? They love that he hates the same people they hate, they don't care about anything else.

    1. Trump may not be book smart, but he is clever... in a Cersei Lannister sort of way.

    2. He's got deep evil in him that can immediately sense a person's weak spot and, like a cobra, zero in and penetrate it. It immobilizes people who think or want to make an impression of having decency. Trump doesn't give a shit about decency and just goes around like a bully, like a mad king, alternately insulting and fake-praising everyone around him. That cobra where his mind should be is very dangerous, and we put him there! Or at least some of us did.

  3. Another one of Putin's useful idiots has been arrested. Didn't Trump say he "loves Wikileaks?"

    https://gizmodo.com/julian-assange-dragged-out-of-ecuadorian-embassy-and-ar-1833964012?utm_medium=socialflow&utm_source=gizmodo_twitter&utm_campaign=socialflow_gizmodo_twitter

Julian Assange has been arrested by police in London after almost seven years in the Ecuadorian embassy. The WikiLeaks founder was dragged out of the embassy at approximately 10:35 am local time, 5:35 am ET.

Assange did not leave of his own free will and could be heard shouting “UK must resist, you can resist!” as he was dragged out of the Ecuadorian embassy. The arrest was livestreamed over YouTube on Russian news channel RT.

According to the WikiLeaks Twitter account, Assange left against his will and, an unnamed Ecuadorian ambassador, “invited British police into the embassy” to arrest the bearded WikiLeaks founder. As you can see from the livestream, British police seemed to be smirking as he was loaded into a large police vehicle.

The UK Metropolitan Police released a statement on its website:

Julian Assange, 47, (03.07.71) has today, Thursday 11 April, been arrested by officers from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) at the Embassy of Ecuador, Hans Crescent, SW1 on a warrant issued by Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 29 June 2012, for failing to surrender to the court.

He has been taken into custody at a central London police station where he will remain, before being presented before Westminster Magistrates’ Court as soon as is possible.

The MPS had a duty to execute the warrant, on behalf of Westminster Magistrates’ Court, and was invited into the embassy by the Ambassador, following the Ecuadorian government’s withdrawal of asylum.

    1. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/apr/11/julian-assange-arrested-at-ecuadorian-embassy-wikileaks

Julian Assange has been arrested at the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where the WikiLeaks founder was granted refuge in 2012 while on bail in the UK over sexual assault allegations against him in Sweden.

At the time, Assange claimed that if he was extradited to Sweden he might be arrested by the US and face charges relating to WikiLeaks’s publication of hundreds of thousands of US diplomatic cables

The journalist and Assange supporter John Pilger called last week for people to “fill the street outside the embassy and protect him and show solidarity with a courageous man”.

US authorities have never officially confirmed that they have charged Assange, but in November 2018 a mistake in a document filed in an unrelated case hinted that criminal charges might have been prepared in secret.

  4. Eugene Robinson is WAY more articulate in his writing. Have you ever heard this guy try to speak without stumbling, bumbling and stuttering through a sentence? His oral commentary is incoherent and I suspect frequently falls on deaf ears.

  5. I do not think that they are so stupid really they just got brain washed by a BIG CON , Yes they Know what he his , but brain wash . TRUMP IS A CULT Leader( like in john john in Africa ) and his supporters will even die for him . It is so sad , because I am sure that some of them are afraid too, Just as in a drug situation they would need to be detox , but they are also very afraid what he might do or others will , in that group do do them if they try to get out .It is very control . Usually they are just weak , poor minded people who follow some one like Trump , because they think he will be their savior . I feel sorry for them in a way.

  6. There are reasons why they can identify with Trump. They got nothing in between their ears they can be proud of. They cannot compete in an increasingly complex economy. Trump is a bully, a cheat, a male chauvinist PIG and everything that stinks. But he tells them the lies they want to hear, and they love him for it.

  7. That's not news. Have you heard when they are interviewing them?... . It's like a tsunami of stupidity. That's why trump constantly says he loves the poorly educated. That's his base because they are easily controlled.

  10. Trump supporters live to “stick it to the libs,” whom they hate. Most are uneducated and therefore don’t possess the skills necessary for a modern economy. Those that are educated are only nominally so, devoid of intellectual curiosity and certainly lacking any sense of enlightenment. The vast majority appear to share Trump’s white national sentiments. As usual, most Trump supporters will again vote against their own social and economic interests and forever blame liberals for their own failure to prosper.

Hillary bought the dossier made by chris steele from bogus russian sources and the stupid Left bought the lie hook and sinker and pushed this hoax for 2 years on the american people. Trump outsmarted the media and the deep state crooks who tried to take him down with lies from a fake dossier. Payback is coming for the deep state and the corrupt Left who pushed a coup attempt on a duly elected president.
