Putin's Poodles: Trump’s Lawyer Pushes Russian Propaganda As Impeachment Defense

Mod: It is obvious that Putin and the Russian mob control the majority party in the United States Senate

Trump’s Lawyer Pushes Russian Propaganda As Impeachment Defense (PoliticusUSA link): Trump lawyer Mike Purpura argued, “President Trump then turned to corruption in the form of foreign interference in the 2016 presidential election. There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking a foreign leader to help get to the bottom of all forms of foreign interference in an American presidential election.”

Purpura was pushing the Crowdstrike conspiracy theory that was widely debunked by witnesses at the House impeachment investigation. The president’s own lawyer is admitting that the basis for extorting Ukraine was a Russian conspiracy theory that it was Ukraine who really interfered in the 2016 election to help Hillary Clinton.

Sen. Mark Warner warned that Trump and Giuliani are potentially being manipulated by Russian propaganda, and that same propaganda has found its way into Trump’s impeachment defense. Trump and his legal team are using the impeachment trial to push Russian misinformation to the American people. Even when he is defending himself at an impeachment trial, Donald Trump continues to push Putin’s agenda.

  1. Mitt Romney now says it is "very likely" he'll be in favor of witnesses at Trump's impeachment trial. The disgusting treason of Trump and his lawyers is backfiring on them.

  2. Trump lawyer Purpura busted by MSNBC for lying on the Senate floor during impeachment trial

Moments after the end of the Saturday’s Senate impeachment trial of Donald Trump concluded, MSNBC host Brian Williams pointed out that one of Donald Trump’s attorney’s lied on the Senate floor about the president’s Ukraine scandal– and he had a clip handy to prove it.

Sharing footage of attorney Mike Purpura stating the higher-ups in Ukraine were unaware that Donald Trump was withholding aid until after the government helped him by announcing an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden, the MSNBC host called the attorney out.

To make his point that Pupura was being untruthful, Williams then showed a clip of Defense Department official Laura Cooper, who testified that Ukrainians were asking about the delay on the day of the Trump phone call that was the starting point of the impeachment trial.

  3. Rep Schiff: After listening to the President's lawyers opening arguments, I have three observations:

They don’t contest the facts of Trump’s scheme.

They’re trying to deflect, distract from, and distort the truth.

And they are continuing to cover it up by blocking documents and witnesses.

  4. Donald Trump impeachment trial: For Republicans, patriotism has left the Senate chamber
Republicans used to know that patriotism isn't about words, it's what you do. But today's congressional Republicans have lost sight of that.

  5. Not to pick on Senator Warner, but half-assed statements like "Trump and Giuliani are potentially being manipulated by Russian propaganda" provide Trump, Giuliani, and all their associates and henchman with an imprimatur of good faith that they never once had nor ever even considered embracing in their entire lives.

The truth is that Trump and Giuliani are knowingly, willfully, and gleefully doing the bidding of Putin and the Russian oligarchs. Trump and Giuliani at best are junior partners, or at the very least foot soldiers (not useful idiots), in a world-wide crime syndicate.

If the situation were reversed with the Dems doing Russia's bidding, the Repubs would be shouting it out directly, in no uncertain terms all day, every day.

Why can't Democrats tell the truth about Republicans clearly, directly, and without half-assed qualifications?

  6. Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, one of President Donald Trump's most vocal congressional allies, praised House Democrats for the way they presented the case against Trump in his impeachment trial.

The Democrats made their case to the public as if it were "cable news," Gaetz told Politico, commending their use of multimedia during the trial.

Meanwhile, the defense team's case looked like "an eighth-grade book report," Gaetz told Politico. "Actually, no, I take that back," he said, adding that an eighth-grader would know how to use PowerPoint and iPads.

  8. I really hope that every single lawyer who is lying for Trump gets disbarred...and while Barr may not have been on the Senate floor... that includes him as he’s always the Elephant 🐘 in the room when it comes to protecting Trump.

  9. I'll never forget what Comey said about Trump. He said he'd been a prosecutor for years and had met lots of Mob Bosses. And that was exactly how he described his lecture from Trump about allegiance to him. He is a mob boss.
