Blood Money: Trump Campaign Gave 1/6 Rally Organizers $4.3 Million

Mod: If you had given money to Donald Trump in late 2020 you could have helped enable acts of actual treason. The first of its kind in US history.

Follow The Money: Trump Campaign Gave 1/6 Rally Organizers $4.3 Million (PoliticusUSA link): The Trump campaign has hidden spending through shell companies, but it is known that they paid the 1/6 rally organizers  $4.3 million.

Via Open Secrets: "Former President Donald Trump’s political operation reported paying more than $4.3 million to people and firms that organized the Jan. 6 rally since the start of the 2020 election. However, questions remain about the full extent of the Trump campaign’s involvement in the “Save America” rally on the day of the Capitol attack as a House select committee’s sweeping requests attempt to shine some light on that day’s events ... But since Trump’s campaign and joint fundraising committee funneled millions of dollars through layers of opaque firms and shell companies where the ultimate payee is hidden, the public may never know the full extent of the Trump campaign’s payments to organizers involved in the protests."

The Trump campaign tried to hide its spending

Trump and Jared Kushner used some of the same techniques that they employed to try to hide money from the IRS to avoid campaign finance disclosure rules, so the I/6 Committee will have a web to untangle if they intend to answer the questions about Trump’s campaign and its role in the Capitol attack.

The Trump campaign paid for the rally that brought those who attacked the Capitol to Washington, DC. Trump also incited the crowd to attack the Capitol.

If Trump’s spending were above board, there would be no need to cover their tracks.

House Republicans are trying to hide their phone calls, and Trump his campaign is trying to hide their spending. If the 1/6 Committee can answer why it will go a long toward naming names on the 1/6 attack.

Who is Ginger Luckey?: 5 Things You Need to Know About Congressman Matt Gaetz’s New Wife

Mod: Inquiring minds want to know.

Ginger Luckey, 26: 5 Things To Know About Congressman Matt Gaetz’s New Wife (Hollywood Life link): Amid the ongoing investigation against him for his alleged relationship with a 17-year-old girl, Matt Gaetz has married Ginger Luckey. Here are five things to know about the congressman’s wife.

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida is married. The politician, 39, who is currently under investigation for his alleged relationship with a 17-year-old girl, and his fiancée Ginger Luckey eloped in California recently after dating for about a year. Both bride and groom shared snapshots from their big day on social media on Saturday, Aug. 21.

The nuptials come amid the ongoing federal investigation against the Donald Trump ally to determine whether he had sexual relations with a minor and paid for her travels. New court filings from last month revealed that the congressman’s campaign has been shelling out more spending amid the investigation, with half of which going towards attorney Marc Fernich, who has repped the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Within all the legal clamor and the clangor, the congressman has factored in time to exchange vows with Ginger, 26. Below are five things to know about the politician’s new wife.

1) Ginger Met Her Husband At Trump’s Mar-A-Lago - Ginger told the Daily Mail last December that she met her Republican congressman husband at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago club — the same location in which he would propose — in Palm Beach, Florida in March 2020. Donald threw a fundraiser at the time, and Ginger said her mother “dragged” her to the event. The following night, Ginger accompanied her future husband to the birthday party of Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle. Of the proposal, she told the outlet: “It didn’t come as a surprise. I had sort of seen it coming.”

2) Ginger Is A Student At Harvard Business School - According to her LinkedIn, Ginger is currently a student at Harvard Business School Online, where she is studying sustainable business strategy. She previously studied economics and accounting at the University of Santa Barbara between 2012 and 2016. Currently, Ginger works as a food analyst for the company Apeel in Santa Barbara in California. She’s been with the company since last year.

3) Ginger’s Brother Is A Known Millionaire & Big Republican Donor - Ginger is the sister of Palmer Luckey, an entrepreneur best known as the founder of virtual reality company Oculus VR and designer of the Oculus Rift. Facebook bought Oculus VR back in 2014 for a reported $2 billion. Forbes estimated that the entrepreneur’s net worth was well over $500 million following the sale, but it is unclear how much he is worth now. He is also an ardent donor to the Republican Party, per OpenSecrets, a research and government transparency group that tracks money in politics. Last October, Palmer hosted a fundraiser for President Trump after having reportedly donating thousands to his 2016 campaign.

4) Ginger’s Sister Has Called Matt A “Creep” - Don’t call the Luckey family’s support for Republican candidates a family affair, as Ginger’s sister Roxanne has slammed her now brother-in-law as a “creep.” Roxanne has been critical of the politician and the allegations of sex trafficking leveled against him, having shared TikToks that recounted stories about him. In one, Roxanne alleged that Matt tried to set her up with an older friend when she was 19. “I saw the character and type of person he is, and when everything came out about him, I honestly, unfortunately, was not surprised,” she said of the ongoing investigation. “As someone who has personally experienced a ton of creepy old politician men hitting on me when I was underage, and experiencing sexual assault at that age by people of power, it’s very disheartening and I have zero tolerance of people like [Gaetz].”

5) Ginger Doesn’t Live In The Same State As Her Husband - As her work information suggests, Ginger lives in California, while her husband resides in Florida. In her interview with Daily Mail, Ginger revealed that since her job had gone remote due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, however, she has been traveling full-time with her “travel buddy” husband. “My company went totally remote in March so I can do my financial analytics from anywhere,” she told the outlet. “So I have been traveling with him everywhere. I am his travel buddy.”

Pasadena Star News: ‘Landslide’ Larry Elder clocks in at 18%

Mod: Here is my latest column. Landslide Larry Elder could become Governor of California with less than 20% of the vote. Like Trump, he'd be another popular vote loser in office.

‘Landslide’ Larry Elder clocks in at 18% (Pasadena Star News link): Larry Elder polls at around 18% of the vote. A pretty meager performance that could only be meaningful in a California recall. If he should become governor with less than a fifth of the total, and he just might, does it mean he is in danger of going down in history as “Landslide Larry?”

Some folks believe Elder announced his candidacy late because he had trouble making up his mind. The story is Larry had to carefully consider the sacrifices he’d need to make before going forward with any gubernatorial run. I personally can’t imagine what those sacrifices might be since Elder made a career out of talking about himself on AM radio and in reactionary pulp, but there you are. People have said it.

There is another theory, however. Based on the dismaying new revelations regarding Larry Elder and a troubled personal life, his actual reason for delaying any big political announcement was he knew news of bad personal stuff would come out quickly, and he needed to limit the time people had to investigate it.

It has now been two weeks since the editorial board of this newspaper issued its endorsement of Elder’s candidacy. Here’s the essence of what its members said:

“The recall remains a cornerstone of California governance — a way for the People to right a ship of state that is veering off course. The state clearly needs corrective action. We urge a yes vote on the recall and believe that Larry Elder should provide the next round of leadership.”

So I’m guessing the delayed announcement thing worked. Here are a few things that have been revealed over the last couple of weeks that this newspaper’s editorial board may not have known about.

In an August 19 article in Politico, “Elder’s ex-fiancee said he brandished a gun at her,” Alexandra Datig, who ended her engagement to him in 2015, revealed an especially unromantic evening. Here is how she described their near-Phil Spector denouement:

Datig portrayed him as a marijuana user who would often become threatening or insistent with her, including in his repeated demands that she get a ‘Larry’s Girl’ tattoo to show her devotion to him … The alleged gun incident occurred in the midst of a heated conversation as their relationship was unraveling, according to Datig. ‘He was in the bedroom, and I was standing by the door,’ she said. He became silent, she said, and then slowly ‘walked over to the nightstand, opened the door, and took out the gun, a .45 pistol.’”

On August 13 The Huffington Post released an unflattering report, “California GOP recall candidate once called Trump sexual assault allegations ‘Child’s Play.’”

The “child’s play” part being especially unfortunate considering the twice-impeached president’s decades long relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Elder refused to condemn Trump when he faced sexual misconduct allegations from more than a dozen women … ‘Oh, for crying out loud,’ Elder said during an appearance on ‘Fox & Friends.’ ‘Harvey Weinstein has had now — I think it’s over 30 accusations of sexual assault, including five accusations of rape. Whatever Donald Trump has done is child’s play compared to this.’”

Interesting whataboutism. There are other troubling examples as well. Larry’s so-called libertarian opposition to COVID-19 preventative measures despite exploding mass infection and death rates, alleged tax evasion, embracing the big lie that Trump won the 2020 election, frequent use of the N-word and even a juvenile fabrication that he personally introduced Snoop Dogg to marijuana.

So could Landslide Larry become governor with less than 20% of the vote? It’s just the sort of thing that occurs when a small but belligerent political pressure group is stupidly handed the power needed to impose its will on the majority.

Rudy Giuliani Reportedly Told DOJ Investigators He Made Up Claims About Hillary Clinton’s Emails

Mod: Disinformation 101 from one of the worst of Trump's most valued liars.

Rudy Giuliani Reportedly Told DOJ Investigators He Made Up Claims About Hillary Clinton’s Emails (Political Tribune link): Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani told Department of Justice investigators that he made up claims about Hillary Clinton’s emails ahead of the 2016 election, according to The Daily Beast

At the time, Giuliani claimed in a radio interview that he’d heard “rumors” about the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails from “active” FBI agents. Two days later, then-FBI Director James Comey announced that the agency would reopen its inquiry into whether Hillary Clinton had mishandled classified information. The months leading to the 2016 election were wild, but Comey’s announcement was like a gut-punch to Democrats. It was unheard of and considered election interference by many just ahead of the election.

Giuliani gloated about it on a radio show that same day, saying he was hearing “rumors” from “active” FBI agents that they supported Comey’s decision to backtrack and reopen the email probe,” the outlet reports

Giuliani sat down for a voluntary interview with the Justice Department’s inspector general and admitted that he claims were all bullshit. “But in subsequent interviews with the DOJ Office of the Inspector General, which had launched a probe into possible FBI leaks, Giuliani admitted it was just hot air,” the report continues.

“His chats had amounted to “gossip” about Comey’s decision-making, and the “active” agents he referred to were just retired FBI agents actively working in security and consulting, he told the OIG,” the outlet reports.

Giuliani later claimed that the “surprise” he had been referring to was a speech Trump would deliver before the election that would derail Clinton and had been unrelated to Comey’s announcement,” the report continues.

“Accordingly, the purported investigative leads provided by the FBI based on alleged FBI employee contacts with Giuliani were inaccurate,” the report says

The inspector general’s office released a report on Thursday, revealing that no evidence was found that active FBI agents contacted Giuliani before the 2016 election.

We had two candidates in 2016 to choose from. One was highly qualified for the job; the other was a former reality TV show star, a serial bankruptcy filer, and an adulterer. The woman lost the race to a mentally unfit man for the job, then hundreds of thousands of Americans died on his watch.

I’d like to know what Trump knew of Giuliani’s dis- information plan. And how is that not considered election interference? Maybe the twice-impeached one-term president should go under oath for 11 hours just like Clinton did.

Seven Capitol Police Officers Suing Trump Shared The Violence And Racism They Experienced On Jan. 6

Mod: I sure hope their lawsuit succeeds.

Seven Capitol Police Officers Suing Trump Shared The Violence And Racism They Experienced On Jan. 6 (Buzz Feed.News link): Seven US Capitol Police officers on Thursday filed the latest lawsuit seeking to hold former president Donald Trump responsible for the Jan. 6 insurrection — and shared their own accounts of the racial slurs, assaults, and emotional trauma they experienced that day.

Trump is already facing civil claims from members of Congress and other Capitol Police officers who responded to the riots. The new case, filed in federal district court in Washington, accuses Trump of conspiring with a host of actors with ties to the insurrection and the events leading up to it: longtime Trump ally Roger Stone; organizers of the “Stop the Steal” rally that preceded the attack; various right-wing groups, including the Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, and the Three Percenters; and individuals facing charges for their alleged criminal activities at the Capitol

The complaint threads together public accounts of what Trump, Stone, and “Stop the Steal” organizers said and did before Jan. 6 with evidence culled from the hundreds of criminal cases filed to date documenting the specific movements of rioters. It’s the latest case to accuse Trump of violating the Ku Klux Klan Act, a federal law that prohibits conspiracies to violate civil rights, among other things.

“Defendants directed, incited, aided, and abetted attackers to break through police lines, to overwhelm and assault Plaintiffs and their fellow police officers, and to put Plaintiffs and their fellow police officers in reasonable fear for their lives,” lawyers for the Capitol Police officers wrote. “Many Defendants and co-conspirators participated in the Attack. Defendants all failed and neglected to take action to prevent or aid in preventing the violence that caused Plaintiffs’ injuries.”

Near the end of the document, the complaint described what the seven plaintiffs encountered on the ground. The stories they detail in the suit add to the growing collection of firsthand accounts from law enforcement officers who have come forward to publicly share the violence and harassment they faced from the hundreds of Trump supporters who descended on the Capitol.

Mad Don: House Jan. 6 probe focuses on Trump's mental health and martial law

Mod: Trump has been loco nuts for decades. But until he became president it didn't seem to matter so much.

House probe focuses on Trump's mental health and martial law (The Hill link): The trove of documents requested Wednesday by the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack shows an interest in former President Trump’s mental health and whether he was considering using the military to remain in power.

In addition to seeking records on Trump’s family members and a long list of former aides, the panel is asking the White House and federal agencies to relay any conversations about removing the former president from office and whether he planned to enact martial law.

The committee is zeroing in on the period from Election Day to Inauguration Day and wants agencies to turn over “all documents and communications relating to the Twenty-Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution,” which allows the vice president and a majority of Cabinet members to remove the president if they believe he is unfit for office.

Agencies are also asked to relay “all documents and communications related to the mental stability of Donald Trump or his fitness for office” following Jan. 6, when a mob of the Trump supporters stormed the Capitol.

The documents, if provided, could offer new insight into whether former Vice President Pence and Trump’s Cabinet members were considering taking action following numerous reports that administration officials were considering invoking the 25th Amendment during Trump’s last two weeks in office.

During that period, the House passed a symbolic measure encouraging Pence to invoke the amendment. Pence responded at the time by saying he did not believe “such a course of action is in the best interest of our nation.”

Trump Begs Judge To Restore His YouTube Account As He’s Apparently Hurting For Cash

Mod: The one time master of grift is finding it more difficult to con cash out of his witless followers without social media. Trump is now begging judges to restart his Internet ATM.

Trump Begs Judge To Restore His YouTube Account As He’s Apparently Hurting For Cash (PoliticusUSA link): Trump has asked a judge in Florida to restore his YouTube account so that he can raise money. This according to the New York Post:

"The request for a preliminary injunction against YouTube argues that a failure to issue one would result in irreparable harm to both Trump as a potential political candidate in the future and the Republican Party as a whole, court documents dated Monday show. Notably, the injunction would allow Trump to continue selling merchandise on YouTube, potentially critical to political fundraising efforts."

Trump Can’t Raise Money Without Social Media

The request for an injunction to give him his social media accounts back specifically mentions the ability to raise money.

Trump raises oodles of money through the use of social media and his practice of auto signing up his supporters for recurring donations that they might not be aware of. The problem for Trump is that the longer these social media account bans remain in place, the more difficult it is for him to raise money.

After nearly six years of Trump hovering over the political discussion and trying to suck up all of the oxygen in the room, many people think that Trump wants his social media accounts back for the attention, but there is a bigger piece in play.

If Trump wants to be a presidential candidate in 2024, he is going to struggle to raise funds without access to social media.

Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube didn’t just take away Trump’s spotlight. They are cutting off his stream of small-donor cash as well.

Capitol riot select committee will look at cell phone records of Republican members

Mod: Who were the likes of Kevin McCarthy and Gym Jordan chatting with around January 6? We could soon know.

Capitol riot select committee will look at cell phone records of Republican members (Raw Story link): The January 6th select committee in the House held the first hearing with police ahead of the August recess, and now that members are coming back to work, the committee is looking at the next steps.

CNN.com reported Monday that the committee will look at phone records of any members of Congress who may have been in contact with organizers of the violent riots

Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ) said that she witnessed "members of Congress who had groups coming through the Capitol ... a reconnaissance for the next day." She explained that she found it suspicious because the Capitol was closed due to COVID-19 and tours weren't happening.

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) later echoed that claim by saying that he spoke to another member who also witnessed a tour that day.

In January, Sherrill joined with more than 30 other Democrats in authoring a letter requesting that the Capitol Police and the acting sergeants at arms, in both the House and Senate, investigate "suspicious behavior and access given to visitors to the Capitol Complex" on Jan. 5.

The CNN report said that the House intends to tell telecommunications companies to preserve documents. Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), the chairman of the committee, said that he hopes to have subpoenas issued by the end of the month.

"While it remains unclear which members' records the committee is interested in, several Republican lawmakers, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and GOP Rep. Jim Jordan, have acknowledged speaking to then-President Donald Trump by phone on January 6," said the report.

Jordan was asked by two reporters about his conversations with Trump on Jan. 6 and stammered so much that questions were raised about him hiding something.

Fox’s Latest Conspiracy Theory: 3rd Booster Shot is an Attempt to Distract From Afghanistan

: Can it be that if Fox News isn't lying its viewers get bored? Do they know they're being lied to and kinda dig it? Or are they really just common fools?

Fox’s Latest Conspiracy Theory: 3rd Booster Shot is an Attempt to Distract From Afghanistan (PoliticusUSA link): Amazingly enough, despite a readily available vaccine, the country is now going through another wave of COVID-19 cases. Hospitalizations and deaths are up, especially in red states where far fewer people have been vaccinated.

And there are also worries that the original vaccines could wane in efficacy over time. The White House recently announced that a booster shot would be made available to all Americans. According to Fox News, this is all a ploy to distract from the situation in Afghanistan.

Rachel Campos-Duffy told viewers:

“The White House was busy making headlines this week — but not about our Afghanistan response. The president instead announcing he will give a booster shot and mandating the vaccine for nursing homes staff. But is this just an attempt to distract the American people from the Afghanistan crisis? The Administration has spoken as much about Afghanistan as it has about Covid.”

The host then invited “medical expert” Dr. Marty Markary on to opine on the subject. The Doctor responded, “There have been daily headline-grabbing announcements from the White House with no new supporting data. And then on Thursday, they hit the nuclear button and said the FDA is going to grant full approval [for Covid-19 vaccines] and they gave those details yesterday.”

It is not surprise that Fox is trying to keep the focus on Afghanistan. It is, however, quite sad, that they found an actual medical doctor to go along with it. Here's the video.

Ex-Pence adviser: Trump had 4 years to help Afghan allies leave but Stephen Miller's 'racist hysteria' blocked it

: Stephen Miller, the David Duke of Santa Monica CA, could only have existed in the Trump admin.

A former Pence adviser said Trump had 4 years to help Afghan allies leave the country but Stephen Miller's 'racist hysteria' blocked it from happening (Business Insider link): A former national security official blamed the Trump administration and former Trump adviser Stephen Miller's "racist hysteria" for impeding the visa application process for Afghans who worked with the US.

Olivia Troye worked as the homeland security and counterterrorism adviser to Vice President Mike Pence. In a Twitter thread Friday, she blasted the Trump administration for its handling of the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) programs that provide a path to US residency for locals who worked with the US government in Afghanistan.

"There were cabinet mtgs about this during the Trump Admin where Stephen Miller would peddle his racist hysteria about Iraq & Afghanistan. He & his enablers across gov't would undermine anyone who worked on solving the SIV issue by devastating the system at DHS & State," Troye wrote.

Troye said she worked on the SIV issue but got "nowhere" because allies of President Donald Trump and Miller at the Justice Department, Department of Homeland Security, and other security agencies "made an already cumbersome SIV process even more challenging."

She said many people within the administration believed the matter was urgent but that many were afraid to oppose the president's allies, adding that there were "many closed door meetings" strategizing how to address the issue.

"Trump had FOUR years-while putting this plan in place-to evacuate these Afghan allies who were the lifelines for many of us who spent time in Afghanistan," she said. "The process slowed to a trickle for reviews/other "priorities"- then came to a halt."

An Afghanistan War veteran told CNN this week that Miller "should be held accountable for war crimes" for opposing the resettlement of endangered Afghans, and that he was "complicit" in their deaths.

Corrupt Ted Cruz Is Using Taxpayer Money To Hire His Family

Mod: When it comes to taxpayer money and the extended Cruz clan, it's strictly a family affair.

Corrupt Ted Cruz Is Using Taxpayer Money To Hire His Family (Politicus USA link): Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is skirting federal anti-nepotism law by giving government jobs to the kids of his cousins.

Business Insider reported: Cruz employed the daughter of his first cousin in his Senate office as a paid press assistant and gave his cousin’s son a coveted Senate internship. Cruz put his cousin on the payroll for his 2016 presidential campaign and later for his Senate campaign, records show.

Federal law bars members of Congress and other government officials from hiring close relatives — including first cousins — for paid, taxpayer-funded posts.

When his office was asked about why Sen. Cruz is using taxpayer money to hire family members, they responded the classic guilty Republican claim that the story was “fake news.”

Everyone in American politics knows that Sen. Cruz lies with the same frequency that the rest of us take in oxygen, but there is also a level of corruption to the Texas Senator that until this time has been un and underreported.

It isn’t just the compulsive lies, incitement of efforts to overthrow the US government, and going on vacation to Cancun as his constituents freeze to death.

Ted Cruz is abusing his position as a public servant. Sen. Cruz is going to run for president again in 2024, so he has replaced Lyin’ Ted with Corruption Ted. Neither Ted should be allowed anywhere near the White House.
