Ted Cruz's daughter knocks him on TikTok: 'I really disagree with most of his views'

Mod: "How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is to have a thankless child!" - Shakespeare

Ted Cruz's daughter knocks him on TikTok: 'I really disagree with most of his views' (Raw Story link): Sen. Ted Cruz's teenage daughter admits there's some good things about having a famous dad, but she doesn't always like living in his shadow.

The Texas Republican's daughter Caroline agreed in a video posted on her TikTok account that she enjoys the travel perks that come from her dad's job, and she likes getting candy and other gifts in the mail from the senator's supporters, but she admits some downsides to his political notoriety, reported the Dallas Observer.

"Some of the bad things are, I literally have to have security following me everywhere," she said. "Like, if I want to go on a walk through the neighborhood, like to my friend's house or something, I have to have, like, two security guards behind me the entire time."

“Also, a lot of people judge me based upon him at first glance,” she added, “but I really disagree with most of his views.”

The teen also revealed that her parents had edited her shirt in a family photo used for a Christmas card sent to supporters.

"On the Christmas card, they literally made my shirt longer," she said, showing a selfie photo of her wearing a crop top. "This is how it's supposed to look."

Anti-Christ: Donald Trump Jr.’s Attack On The Teachings Of Jesus Is A Gift To Democrats

: Nice of Junior to confirm for us that Trumpism should never be confused with Christianity.

Donald Trump Jr.’s Attack On The Teachings Of Jesus Is A Gift To Democrats (PoliticusUSA link): Donald Trump Jr. took the Trump cult to the next level by attacking the teachings of Jesus and giving Democrats a perfect opportunity. Peter Wehner wrote in The Atlantic:

The former president’s son has a message for the tens of millions of evangelicals who form the energized base of the GOP: the scriptures are essentially a manual for suckers. The teachings of Jesus have “gotten us nothing.” It’s worse than that, really; the ethic of Jesus has gotten in the way of successfully prosecuting the culture wars against the left. If the ethic of Jesus encourages sensibilities that might cause people in politics to act a little less brutally, a bit more civilly, with a touch more grace? Then it needs to go.

But what we heard from Donald Trump Jr. was something very different. He believes, as his father does that politics should be practiced ruthlessly, mercilessly, and vengefully. The ends justify the means. Norms and guardrails need to be smashed. Morality and lawfulness must always be subordinated to the pursuit of power and self-interest. That is the Trumpian ethic.

Donald Trump Jr. Puts His Dad Above Jesus

It is common among cult leaders to start out working for God but eventually morphing into becoming God. Donald Trump Jr. was not only attacking the teachings of Jesus, and he suggested that his father’s way of politics should replace Jesus for millions of evangelical Christians.

Trump, as the Christ-like figure of the Republican Party deserving of total loyalty and worship, has always been the logical extension of where the Trump cult of personality would end up.

As The Trumps Grow More Radical, Democrats Have A Golden Opportunity

There is zero chance that right-wing evangelical voters will flip to the Democrats. The right-wing evangelical movement turned a blind eye to Trump’s attack on Christianity long ago, and many of them probably share Donald Trump Jr.’s view of how politics should be practiced.

It is also true that the right-wing evangelical movement has stabilized after years of shrinking.

Donald Trump Jr.’s attack on Jesus gives Democrats a golden opportunity to attract faith-based Independents and moderates. The right-wing evangelical movement sucks up a lot of the oxygen in the conversation, but white evangelicals are only 14% of the population.

The fastest-growing group in the country is non-religious Americans. Democrats have the ability with Joe Biden to appeal to the roughly 70% of religiously affiliated voters who aren’t evangelicals.

Democrats are an actual big tent, and there is room for both people of faith and those who don’t believe. While Donald Trump Jr. fights with Jesus, Democrats can appeal to any voter who doesn’t think that Donald Trump is deserving of worship.

Jared Schmeck 'praying about' a run for office as he hopes to meet Trump at Mar-a-Lago

: It seems like the ticket to certain political viability in the GOP today is behaving like an unhinged asshole.

Jared Schmeck 'praying about' a run for office as he hopes to meet Trump at Mar-a-Lago (Raw Story link): The father who slurred President Joe Biden on a Santa-themed telephone call said this week that he is seeking God's advice on a future political career.

During an interview with conservative Christian broadcaster Todd Starnes, Schmeck said that he hoped people would find Jesus through the "Let's Go Brandon" phrase that he used to slur Biden. Some conservatives have used the phrase as a substitute for "F--k Joe Biden."

"Do you have any aspirations for higher office?" Starnes asked. "I know people have been talking about that already."

"I want to pray about it, see what God has for me," Schmeck replied. "At the end of the day, I want His will for my life and the direction that it goes."

"I do feel like God put me in this position for a reason," he added. "And I strongly believe that standing up is the right thing to do here as long as that message that I'm portraying is glorifying His name. And yeah, I'll see where it goes."

Starnes noted that Trump could invite Schmeck to Mar-a-Lago if he decides to run for office. "I would be honored," Schmeck admitted.

No More Tears: Alex Jones suffered 'burning to his eyes' after his wife hit him with a shampoo bottle

: Keeping up with the Joneses. Just one more GOP snowflake.

Alex Jones suffered 'burning to his eyes' after his wife hit him with shampoo bottle: police docs (Raw Story link): New details emerged on Monday about the domestic violence that InfoWars host Alex Jones allegedly suffered last week at the hands of his wife.

The Daily Beast has obtained a police report about the incident in which Jones said that his wife, Erika Wulff Jones, struck him over 20 times and caused him to fear for his life.

The police report states Jones said his wife struck him at least once with a bottle of shampoo, which police say caused "burning to his eyes."

Additionally, Jones said his wife attempted to strike him with a large stone ball as he tried fleeing her.

Erika Wulff Jones disputed Jones's claims, but was nonetheless arrested and charged with allegedly assaulted her husband and for resisting arrest.

"A second police affidavit reviewed by The Daily Beast claimed that Erika was adamant about not going to jail and at one point broke free of handcuffs and began 'swing[ing] her fists and kicking' police officers [who] called for backup, while 'striking at least one," the publication writes.

Mod: Erika must be quite a gal.

Schmecked: Caller Who Told Biden ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Says He Was Kidding, Whines About Free Speech

: To borrow a quote: "You are most welcome to your free speech, but you are not exempt from the consequences."

Caller Who Told Biden ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ on Christmas Eve Says He Was Kidding, Whines About Free Speech (Rolling Stone link): Jared Schmeck claims he is “being attacked for utilizing my freedom of speech” after he essentially told the president to f-ck himself.

An Oregon man who said “Let’s Go Brandon” during a Santa tracker phone call with President Biden and first lady on Christmas Eve now claims it was just a “joke.”

As The Oregonian very kindly described it on Saturday, Jared Schmeck’s use of the popular right-wing code for “Fuck Joe Biden” was actually just “a reflection of his frustration with Biden’s policies, including the federal vaccine mandates, inflation and global supply chain problems that have caused shortages in consumer products.”

Regardless, Schmeck’s comments to the paper were a mess of contradictions. “At the end of the day, I have nothing against Mr. Biden, but I am frustrated because I think he can be doing a better job,” said Schmeck, 35, a former police officer who now works for an electric company. “I mean no disrespect to him.”

He continued: “I understand there is a vulgar meaning to ‘Let’s go Brandon,’ but I’m not that simple minded, no matter how I feel about him,” he said. So Schmeck meant no disrespect, yet he also knows what the slur means? Got it.

Schmeck also revealed that he has been receiving what The Oregonian described as some “vague but threatening” phone calls, and seemed to complain that his First Amendment rights are under assault. “And now I am being attacked for utilizing my freedom of speech,” Schmeck complained, as if the Constitution holds that dumb comments shouldn’t carry repercussions.

MAGA Cartoonist Ben Garrison Turns on Trump After Pro-Vaccine Comments

MAGA Cartoonist Ben Garrison Turns on Trump After Pro-Vaccine Comments
(MSN link): Controversial cartoonist Ben Garrison’s latest offering takes aim at former President Donald Trump – who once invited him to the White House for a social media summit.

Garrison’s cartoon shows a distraught Trump riding in the back of a “Vaccine Bandwagon” through a crowd of booing onlookers. The cartoon Trump is making a pained face, while an exclamation and question mark ring next to his ear.

The cartoon appears to be a reaction to Trump’s recent statements supporting the Covid-19 vaccinations. Trump grabbed attention earlier in the week when he announced he had received his booster shot. He doubled down later in the week in an interview with Candace Owens, saying the vaccines are keeping people from dying.

The Hartmann Report: The hidden Shamanic history of Santa Claus (or why Reindeer are able to fly)

Mod: It's not like they grow wings, you know.

Geeky Science: The Hidden History of Santa Claus (The Hartmann Report link): During these dark days and short nights let’s hold to this ancient knowledge that illumination always follows darkness, and that we will re-light our nation and lives.

It’s Christmas Eve, a connection to some of the most ancient of all known northern European shamanic traditions. Like people living in the north for millennia, we continue to embrace them with regional, national, and religious tweaks.

It occurs during the week of the shortest day and longest night of the year in the northern hemisphere, when ancient holy men and women lit “yule logs” to push back the darkness and bring back the light of summer.

As Henry Bourne wrote in 1725: “For as both December and January were called Guili or Yule, upon Account of the Sun’s Returning, and the Increase of the Days; so, I am apt to believe, the Log has had the Name of the Yule-Log, from its being burnt as an Emblem of the returning Sun, and the Increase of its Light and Heat.”

When Louise and I lived in Germany, Herr Mueller led us up a mountainside deep into the Franconian forest on this night where they had covered a pine tree with candles: we sang carols and he read aloud a bible verse. He later told me that in ancient times the shamans would set the tallest tree afire to re-ignite the sun and bring back longer days.

For millennia across the European arctic circle around the North Pole, from Scandinavia through Siberia, indigenous shamans sought out red-and-white mushrooms (amanita muscaria) and dried them in socks hanging from their fireplaces.

The mushrooms contain a powerful psychedelic, Muscimol, but are also laced with compounds poisonous to humans.  Reindeer, however, love to eat these mushrooms and, when they do, they behave oddly, as if their names were Dancer and Prancer

Their reindeer livers metabolize and thus neutralize the compounds that poison humans, but leave the psychedelic Muscimol largely untouched. Thus, reindeer urine on fresh snow is powerfully psychedelic.

Arctic shamans, around this time of the year, would leave batches of dried amanita mushrooms out in the snow for the hungry reindeer, then follow them as they danced and played, gathering the fresh yellow snow to make into a holiday grog.

This was also the time of the year that the father of gods in Norse religion, the long-white-bearded Odin, would ride his eight-legged horse Sleipnir (“sleigh-near”), bringing good people small gifts made by “Odin’s men” in Asgard, his arctic retreat. The story seems to have morphed as it traveled out of Norway from men to elves, and from eight legs to eight reindeer.

Odin controlled the powers of Thunder and Lightning, “Donner” and “Blitzen” in ancient Norse and today’s Germanic and Scandinavian languages. The reindeer’s favorite food, the amanita mushrooms, look like the shamans dressed, red with white trim and white spots. They’re rotund: you could call them “chubby.”

They grow under pine trees because their mycorrhizae or fungal filaments that extend underground transport minerals from the soil into the roots of the pine trees, who return the favor by transporting carbohydrates from year-round photosynthesis in their needles back down through their roots into the mycorrhizae to nourish the mushrooms.

Amanitas are only found under pine and spruce trees because of this symbiotic relationship that keeps them both healthy. And to this day pine and spruce are pretty much the only trees we use to decorate our homes this time of year.

While Christmas Eve was the darkest of times in the north, it also held the greatest promise. Shamans and their communities would light their pine trees with candles, put the north star (the axis around which the world revolves) atop their trees, and consume their yellow-snow drinks on the darkest nights.

Thus, could use the powers of spirit and nature to fly into the sky to visit the spirit world and resurrect the longer and warmer days for their people, along with spiritual illumination, healing, and the renewal of life.

Several of our modern religions, including Judaism and Christianity, hold this renewal of life at the core of their winter solstice holy days. During these short, dark days and long nights let’s remember this ancient knowledge that illumination always follows darkness, and that with love and compassion we will re-light our nation and lives.

Merry Christmas and warmest regards for whatever holidays you and yours may celebrate (or not) during this holy and trans- formational season.  May all your dreams and good work be realized as our sun’s eternal energy returns to full life in our part of Earth this coming New Year.

Joe Biden 'saved Christmas' — and Democrats should put it on a bumper sticker

Mod: For some reason the GOP is not showing very much gratitude.

Joe Biden 'saved Christmas' — and Democrats should put it on a bumper sticker: Morning Joe (Raw Story link): Fears that supply chain issues would destroy Christmas failed to materialize — and Democrats should put it on a bumper sticker, according to one MSNBC personality. That advice came from former Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-FL) on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

Politico White House bureau chief Jonathan Lemire noted that Biden press secretary Jen Psaki joked that the White House saved Christmas. "Put it on a bumper sticker," Scarborough advised.

"Republicans would put it on a bumper sticker," he explained. "The White House should put this -- 'the White House that saved Christmas.' If you don't think Republicans wouldn't want that, you don't know Republicans."

Later in the segment, Scarborough explained his thoughts on Democrats' messaging.

"Democrats, they like to apologize or put caveats on bumper stickers. You didn't see 'Make America Great Again' asterisk. It doesn't work that way," he said.

Trump is Still Furious That People Criticized Melania’s Christmas Decorations

: I never saw any gingerbread men on her trees.
 Did Donald eat them all?

Trump is Still Furious That People Criticized Melania’s Christmas Decorations (Political Flare link): It’s been a year since Melania Trump decorated the White House for Christmas and former President Donald Trump is still grousing about the media’s less than enthusiastic response to her sense of what’s considered festive. To be sure, during the first couple’s four years in the White House, the response to her rather odd and sometimes garish Christmas displays wasn’t something that could be described as pleased.

Trump decided to harp on this once again during a speech at the First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. He decided to drag the media for criticizing Melania’s decorations, The Independent reports.

“I have to just start by wishing everyone a very, very merry Christmas,” Trump said. Melania, he noted, “was loved by everybody” but “she didn’t exactly get a fair shake.”

“She would make the most beautiful Christmas decorations,” the ex-president added. “And I remember she made these magnificent red trees and the media said, ‘Oh, that’s terrible.’ I said, ‘Honey, next time try white.'”

“She made magnificent, remember, the most beautiful you’ve ever seen, white trees? And they said, let’s do it more traditional. Let’s go with green,” he said.

“We went with beautiful green trees, and they said: ‘Why wouldn’t you make them white like they used to be?’ But I’ll tell you what, she’s loved all over, and she’s got a tremendous heart, and she says hello,” Trump said.

But the fact is, whatever Melania was trying to do, and however well-meant her intentions were, there’s a good reason those shabby-looking red trees created a kerfuffle. They looked rather like a dystopian hellscape. They really were a monumentally terrible decision.

In some parts of the White House in 2017, Melania opted for white branches instead of Christmas trees. My guess, especially because of her attire at the time, a dress that looked rather like a white tunic loosely tied at the waist, is that Melania was going for a winter solstice look but people didn’t take kindly to that either.

Then there was the leaked recording where she made her feelings known about Christmas, and that caused an even bigger controversy. That conversation was recorded by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former friend. Melania wasn’t happy about organizing the decorations.

“I’m working … my ass off at Christmas stuff that you know, who gives a f*ck about Christmas stuff and decoration?” Trump was heard saying on the recording. “But I need to do it, right? Correct?”

“Okay and then I do it and I say that I’m working on Christmas and planning for the Christmas and they said, ‘Oh what about the children that, they were separated?’ Give me a f*cking break,” she said, in a likely reference to the time she visited children at the southern border who had been separated from their parents.

Bill O’Reilly: I Had to Console Trump After MAGA Fans Booed Him for Getting Vaccine Booster

Mod: Oh noes! Those mean MAGAs have made Donald  upset!

Bill O’Reilly: I Had to Console Trump After MAGA Fans Booed Him for Getting Vaccine Booster (Daily Beast link): Bill O’Reilly has revealed that he had to console Donald Trump after he was booed by his own supporters for getting a vaccine booster shot.

Trump told MAGA fans that he’d had his COVID-19 booster during Sunday’s final stop on the “History Tour” he co-headlined with the disgraced ex-Fox News star. The revelation prompted a chorus of boos and jeers from anti-vaxxers in the crowd.

In an interview with Dan Abrams on NewsNation, O’Reilly said Trump phoned him after the event and was apparently hurt by the reaction. “I told him that today, he called me,” said O’Reilly

“I said ‘This is good for you, this is good that people see another side of you, not a political side, you told the truth, you believe in the vax, your administration did it, and you should take credit for it, because it did save, I don’t know, hundreds of thousands of lives.’”

The ex-Fox News star later said that Trump will definitely run in 2024, telling Abrams: “I’m trying to tell President Trump, run on your record. He’s going to run again, all right.”

Former Trump fan profanely denounces his support of booster shots in epic meltdown
(Raw Story link): A one-time fan of former President Donald Trump angrily denounced him this week after he publicly encouraged his supporters to get booster shots to protect themselves against COVID-19.

In a video posted on her Instagram account, a woman who goes by the name of Allison Wonderland profanely criticized the former president for promoting vaccines and boosters.

"I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion and it truly does pain me to say it, but f*ck Donald Trump!" she began. "He is now trying to say that by us doubting the jab, that we're playing right into their hands. What?!"

Terrified And Running Out Of Options: Trump Sues NY AG To Try And Stop Trump Organization Investigation

Mod: Let's laugh. Poor lost Benedict Donald still believes important people are going to listen to his politically beaten ass.

Terrified And Running Out Of Options Trump Sues NY AG To Stop Trump Organization Investigation (PoliticusUSA link): In a sign that Trump is running scared, he sued NY Attorney General Letitia James to block her investigation into the Trump Organization.

The New York Post reported: In the filing, Trump’s legal team claims that investigations launched by James’ office “are in no way connected to legitimate law enforcement goals, but rather, are merely a thinly-veiled effort to publicly malign Trump and his associates ... Her mission is guided solely by political animus and a desire to harass, intimidate, and retaliate against a private citizen who she views as a political opponent,” the document adds.

If Trump’s argument against James sounds familiar, that’s because it is. Trump used the exact same argument in his executive privilege lawsuit, where Trump argued that the 1/6 Committee lacked a legitimate legislative purpose to conduct an investigation.

AG James responded by telling Trump that he is not above the law, “The Trump Organization has continually sought to delay our investigation into its business dealings and now Donald Trump and his namesake company have filed a lawsuit as an attempted collateral attack on that investigation. To be clear, neither Mr. Trump nor the Trump Organization get to dictate if and where they will answer for their actions. Our investigation will continue undeterred because no one is above the law, not even someone with the name Trump.”

Trump is getting desperate. He is under investigation in multiple states and federally with the 1/6 Committee.

Donald Trump is trying to hide the activities of his business, not because the NY state civil suit can get him locked, but it is likely that the Attorney General will find evidence of criminal activity if the investigation continues.

Letitia James cuts Trump's new lawsuit off at the knees: He doesn't get to 'dictate' where he will answer for his actions (Raw Story link): New York Attorney General Letitia James responded to Donald Trump's latest attempt to escape accountability.

The twice-impeached one-term president filed a lawsuit Monday against the attorney general, arguing that James had violated his civil rights by issuing subpoenas to him, his family and his business, and identified Trump as both the president and a private citizen.

“The Trump Organization has continually sought to delay our investigation into its business dealings and now Donald Trump and his namesake company have filed a lawsuit as an attempted collateral attack on that investigation," James said in a statement.

"To be clear, neither Mr. Trump nor the Trump Organization get to dictate if and where they will answer for their actions. Our investigation will continue undeterred because no one is above the law, not even someone with the name Trump.”

The former president has repeatedly attacked James as her office investigates potential fraud at his family-owned Trump Organization, and James has called on Trump to give a deposition on Jan. 7.
